Our Honeymoon
Cons: It was our honeymoon. We were told that we would not hear or see the owner during our stay. However, everyday we heard constant TROMPING over our heads. The place needs a good cleaning: 1) Sofa has stains 2) Stains on the bed cover 3) Cobwebs in the corners throughout 4) Nastiness between the bathroom sink and wall 5) Mites on the hot tub cover, that got on my husband. We had to go get cream from the pharmacy for the bites 6) Driveway is hard to turn around in. Overall it was a nice trip, but these things certainly could be improved upon.

The Perfect Visit
Ray and Madison were wonderful hosts and, I quickly fell in love with the area! I came for a work vacation, and along with the great service and wifi, the apartment was super clean, and the property was gorgeous! The hot tub was super nice (especially when watching the sunrise), and a nice hot shower after a day of hiking felt amazing. I drove out to the Blue Ridge Parkway almost every day to enjoy the stunning views, and the cool mountain air (cleanest I’ve ever breathed) refreshed my soul. I had my own space, and Ray and Madison did a wonderful job of respecting my privacy. Weaverville gives you that small mountain town feel with some great food spots (Stoney Knob Cafe, Well-Bred Bakery), and if you want to experience downtown Asheville, it’s literally 10-15 minutes away by car! Asheville is known for great beer, art, and hiking, and if you don’t know where to go, Ray and Madison provided this binder full of things to do, even day trip ideas! If you’re coming to visit, the amenities I loved: great wifi, garage for the car, personal entrance/kitchen/hot tub/bathroom/bedroom, large and private property, easy access to everything in the area, and the perfect location for any visitor. If you’re lucky, you might just run into their adorable cat Smokey!

Mountain Oasis
This property was a basement apartment ( I was NEVER informed it was a basement). Apartment was cute and clean, but understand… it’s a BASEMENT with people walking over your head and the noise from the family on the main level.!!!! Advertisement stated that it was equipped with a washer and dryer and a hot tub. There was NO washer and dryer in apartment (instead had a book with apartment rules, where it stated that the washer and dryer was located on the main floor level and that if the guest wanted/needed to use those appliances the guests needed to contact the owner upon arrival and set a time and date to use appliances.( that was a “hell no”) -FALSE ADVERTISING. Hot tub was filthy and only had one jet that was operational. ANOTHER “HELL NO”!!!!! The television channels was extremely limited without having to pay. The bed was extremely comfortable ( thank God). I would NEVER RECOMMEND this location to anyone. I don’t know if VRBO is/was aware of the false advertising about this property. I hope for Vrbo’s sake, they were given false information from the owners. Will we go back to the Blue Ridge Mountains- Yes, but will NEVER return to that property.

Perfect romantic weekend getaway. It was warm, cozy, and looks exactly like the pictures on Vrbo. Great hosts. I definitely plan to return.

We both got married and two years ago and moved here from LA. Great move..

Why they chose this property

Close but far enough away from Asheville. Well over an acre of land with great views.
