Quiet Oasis

The area is just outside of the community of Lake Chapala and was a very quiet, well-kept and friendly neighbourhood. We had difficulty finding the property but the host’s contact was quick to help - don’t hesitate to reach out. The bed and furniture is comfy, the Fenix suite is tastefully decorated. Highly recommend.

The places was more than we expected!! It was so nice! Everyone from the host to the staff on the property were so helpful! You should stay here if you plan to visit the Lake Chapala area!

Fabulous!!

What a beautiful property. The grounds are lovely and very quiet and peaceful. The apartments are well appointed with very comfortable beds and linens. The staff were fabulous and easy to connect with and quick to help. It is a bit out of the Centre so a car is needed or a driver. If you need a driver I can recommend Sabas - the Uber driver who was very helpful and also speaks fluent English. His number is 33 1066 1636. He also drove me to Puerto Vallarta with a few interesting stops along the way. I highly recommend his services. I definitely recommend this property and I would not hesitate to stay there again.

A couple of years before I retired, I googled "Best Climate in the World" . This region ranked #2. I instantly fell in love with Chapala. Not only was the weather divine, but I found the locals to be particularly friendly. I love Mexican music, food, and the people. The cost of living is so affordable that I decided to retire early and start a new adventure. Long story short, I bought this house because of the quiet neighborhood and magical gardens. I met my architect, Ricardo shortly after the purchase, and we became fast friends. We embarked on a renovation project that was more fun than I could have possibly imagined. He assumed all the headaches, and I had the pleasure of tagging along for the fun elements like shopping for furniture. Ha! Not only is Ricardo an incredible architect, contractor AND interior designer, but he has the biggest heart of anyone I know. He has become a brother to me and has treated this project with love every step of the way.

Fast forward. A month into this renovation, I met a man online who recently became my husband! These last two years have truly been a dream come true!

My husband and I currently live near Nashville. We plan to build a home with Ricardo on a lot very close to Casa Fenix Boutique. There are 4 suites in all at Casa Fenix. We have partnered with Ricardo on this micro boutique hotel. He is living in one of the units to ensure all runs smoothly.

The mythological Fenix/Phoenix represents transformational rebirth and renewal. It is our deep hope that are re-energized with positive energy during your stay, which is the foundation of Casa Fenix.

Why they chose this property

I love the neighborhood Casa Fenix is located in. It's safe and quiet with many mature trees shading its wide cobblestone streets. As much as I enjoy the liveliness and vibrance of downtown Chapala and Ajijic, I prefer to live in the suburbs. This location has the benefits of close proximity to town with the peacefulness of living on the outskirts.

This lot in particular, captured my imagination because I fell in love with the gardens. I truly felt like I was in the garden of Eden. It is tropical and exotic and is no exaggeration to say that the fragrance of the night blooming trumpet vine diffuses throughout the evening air.
