Perfect chalet-Perfect location
This is a beautiful chalet for skiing in Meribel and the 3 Vallées. It’s a two minute walk from the Doron piste, which you can ski down to access the lifts that take you to both sides of the Meribel valley. It’s also a 5 minute walk to Meribel Centre, which has many nice shops and restaurants. The house also has a large porch and front windows with an incredible view of the ridge. The house is sunny in the daytime. It also has a cozy common room. We also like to cook, and the kitchen was well appointed and had a good selection of dish ware and pots and pans.
A few things to take into consideration:
1-the house is not equipped with bath towels, so you’ll need to bring your own. This would have been a good thing to mention in the house description.
2-The check out time was listed as 11 am with VRBO, but the property manager asked us to leave at 10 am. We left at 11am, as per our agreement.
3-The WiFi works well, which is nice. In the evening , if you don’t want to watch French TV, there is a DVD player. Next time I’d bring some movies along for the family.
4-finding the house from the ski hill was a challenge. It’s possible, but there are several trails down in this area, and it wasn’t easy to find the right trail the first couple of times. It would be great if the host could provide an annotated map/route description to help skiers find their way home.
Overall, this property is a good value in an amazing location. I’d go back in a heartbeat. It felt like home.
