The 5th arrondissement of Paris is one of the oldest districts, as it includes part of the Latin Quarter, which dates back to Antiquity. The 5th arrondissement is a neighbourhood known for his cultural aspect and a large number of universities. Public institutions such as The Sorbonne - a 17th-century chapel where the tomb of Cardinal Richelieu rests, and many bookstores that line nearby.
While walking through the Latin Quarter, you will also come across major sites of Parisian heritage, such as the famous Pantheon dedicated to the memory of the great figures of the nation, the Gallo-Roman baths and the sumptuous medieval museum of Cluny, the ancient arenas of Lutetia, the monumental fountain of the famous Place Saint-Michel or the very pleasant Jardin des Plantes.
Along with the Marais, Saint-Germain-des-Prés and Montmartre, the 5th arrondissement is surely one of the best places to visit.
Getting around Paris by foot is easily achieved by the city's extensive metro system. From the apartment, you can head towards Cluny La Sorbonne (4-minute walk) and take the Metro on Line 10. From there you can change to Line 4 at Odéon.
Alternatively, you can catch the 86 and 63 Bus around the corner.
Taxis, Uber and private-hire-car are available as well.
