Avoid properties managed by HostnFly at all costs
The apartment looks like the photos, is conveniently located and in reasonable condition. In terms of amenities, the lack of an oven was the only quirk that caught me out.
The management of the property is enough to ruin a trip, unfortunately. HostnFly are unapologetically bad, are a pointless middle man who collect your fees but then blame any issues on someone else. The three layer set up of VRBO, HostnFly and their local agent is farcical and means that you'll never be able to hold anyone to account.
The specific problem: I booked linen separately via HostnFly's portal – obviously this is ridiculous but otherwise there will be no bed linen on arrival. I arrived c. 11 pm after travelling all day to find the wrong size linen had been left (beds not made, just left on the table) despite my ordering the correct size. I notified HostnFly who tried to palm it off, said they would handle it, did nothing and then handed me off again to their local agent who told me (now day 2) that it was too late to rectify that day. Two nights without linen to sleep in. All three parties just shrugged and couldn't understand why I was upset.
It's times like this that premium credit card support comes in handy! Just be careful, since HostnFly also take a separate deposit which I'm sure they will be hostile with if tested.
