Balblair Cottage is located in Boat of Garten, one of the best loved villages in the Cairngorm National Park. Excellent WiFi, fully equipped kitchen, large private enclosed garden, pet friendly. A lovely getaway cottage to play or work from.

Balblair Cottage is one of a few historic "Sleeper Buildings" in Boat of Garten, built after the railway came to Boat of Garten in 1863.

The large open plan dining-kitchen area has a wood burning stove in it, and always a few logs ready to light. In the living room, there is an additional wood burning fireplace. Additionally, the master bedroom, a wee bunk room, a sun room, and a full bathroom are also located on the ground floor. Upstairs, another 2 bedrooms and full bathroom.

A dish washer, wine fridge, laundry facilities, parking right outside the front door, and a short walk to the local shops, pub and restaurants, and golf and tennis club make this cottage perfectly convenient. Located on the Speyside Whisky Trail, steam railway, and near the Cairngorm Ski hill, with hiking and biking, canoeing, bird watching, all right outside the door, make this cottage perfectly placed for adventure.

No parties. Quiet hours are between 9 pm and 9 am, this house is located close to the neighbours and we expect them not to be disturbed by any noise.

Well behaved dogs are welcome. They must sleep in their own beds, stay off the furniture and carpeted areas. Please do the usual clean up after them.

Before you leave, please make sure all the dishes are clean, the rubbish is taken out, beds are stripped, the house is tidy and the lights are off.

Lovely property

We really enjoyed our stay here, the property was clean, warm and very well kitted out with everything we needed. Appreciated the additional extras such as logs, wine and biscuits. We would highliy recommend and it is in a great location too - hopefully we will be back.

Lovely Lodging

It was super. The location was perfect. The property had a lot of room and privacy. It was peaceful and lovely. Would come back in a minute. So many helpful descriptions labeled/posted throughout the home to explain every detail. We loved the location near all walks and hikes in Cairngorm.

Very Happy

We were so happy to arrive to a clean and tidy property. The house is just lovely and has a fabulous large garden. It’s very private whilst benefiting to close proximity to an extremely well stocked shop within walking distance. There are also local walks over the River Spey and local access to a steam train which travels to Aviemore. We were delighted to have found this property and Lara was an amazing host who’s coms were just perfect.

This property was perfect! We had a fantastic stay. It had everything we needed and was an ideal location. Our children loved the garden with lots of space for hide and seek and other games. Communication was excellent. Could not have asked for more. Would highly recommend a stay here!!

Fantastic Stay

We had a fantastic time at Balblair Cottage. The house was even nicer than advertised, there was a lovely bottle of wine and some shortbread for our arrival; Lara was an amazing host. She was good enough to let us alter the date of the booking to accomodate an important appointment, and also got us a high chair and travel cot for our wee baby. The house was immaculately clean, very tidy, spacious and warm. It's in a great location and was very quiet indeed. We will definitely stay again, hopefully soon.
