Great location, quiet neighborhood

We were looking for a place to stay while skiing SugarBowl and Royal Gorge, and this house is ideally located to avoid all the traffic on a powder day morning. It was the perfect set up for two families of four and our dog. The neighborhood was perfect for morning dog walks and the house is great for relaxing after a day on the slopes. The hot tub was a welcome respite after skiing, snowboarding and cross country skiing all day. We are definitely going to stay here again and even looking into Summer as well.

Cozy home for the family

We had a wonderful time for an extended weekend stay. We were very comfortable (6 adults and a dog). The kitchen was well stocked, the hot tub was always hot, and neighborhood was quiet. Just what we needed to get away. Definitely recommend this place if you’re looking for a cozy place to getaway!

Great find in Serene

We are regular visitors to Serene Lakes and this was a great find. Good value, nice property, hot tub was a nice bonus. Plenty of space for a couple families with a couple kids each. Kitchen was well equipped, nice woodstove, and central location in Serene walkable to the sledding hill on Yuba etc. We'd stay again,

Beautiful and relaxing

This place was amazing. So quiet and peaceful. If you are looking to just go have a chill vacation this is the place. The scenery is breath taking and so many beautiful places to see. Just a quick 20 min drive to Truckee where there was great food. The hot tub is a great bonus. Has a game room. Very family friendly place. Highly recommend

Pleasant Stay

We enjoyed a short stay at the cabin in Soda Springs. Everything was very clean. The neighborhood was quick to get to from 80 & we will definitely come back in the spring to check out the lake.

Amazing Location

My family spent a week here and totally loved the area and access to hikes, mountain biking, and swimming in rivers and lakes. This house might lack a few updates, but it is an affordable place to stay and still get all the best things about the Tahoe area. Come for the place, not a gourmet kitchen! We loved the air hockey table and hot tub, and best of all the quiet piney neighborhood.

serene family cabin

phenomenal location and very thoughtful layout. Great kitchen- well stocked with pans, knives, etc. So close to royal gorge and the neighborhood/lake are beautiful for walks when the snow is 8 feet deep! Didn't need a car for days

Great stay

As described! The spa was heated and ready for us, which was a plus. The kids will spend hours playing air hockey, but they do need to get new pucks as the one they have is widdled away.

Would gladly rent again

Like many rental properties, the pots and pans were a bit dirty on arrival, but otherwise it was totally clean and a great stay! Quiet neighborhood and a really cool 3 story, well-appointed house. Plenty of games to stay busy when on site too. FYI-nothing to do with the rental other than location, but none of the fire roads or trails in the immediate area are dirt bike friendly, so we had to load and drive a bit to ride. We'll be back, but likely bring the mtb next time.

Good location

For a visit in the transition from summer sports to winter sports, we found the house well located. It was too cool to use the canoe and visit the lake, but the hiking was magnificent, with some trails within walking distance and Donner Summit a very short drive away. We enjoyed the ping pong table. The hot tub cover is very heavy.

Not great in several details

There was no water or wi fi, the lane was so encrusted with ice that we couldn't use garage, a vape pen was left on the master bedstand, the jacuzzi had an algae bloom and stunk and no one came out to fix these problems as promised.

Love the house as it feels like a home but unhappy with cleaning

Cute home. It feels like a cabin. Loved the beautiful decoration specially art on the walls. Love that it had the air hockey for kids to play. Plenty of board games . Hot tub was not very clean. I had some weird smell to it not of chlorine of course water need to be changed.. the part I didn’t like was that we got there, and the bedsheets in two of the bedrooms were not changed. We literally have to strip off the bedsheets and wash it Master bedroom was very cold. There was no heater for it. Kitchen is not equipped with pots and pans that you can cook for eight people. Carpet in the family room was not vacuumed. He had so much cut of a pet. Overall, cute home but need better maintenance

No gas

We arrived late, around 10pm, to find out the house was 35 degrees F inside, there was no hot water, and the gas stove and oven didn’t work. Vacasa, who managed the trip, after multiple, multiple phone calls sent someone out 12 hours later at 10am, who checked the propane tank for the house and told us it was empty as the house no longer had a contract for propane. At first, they offered us a new place (without a hot tub) and no refund, but, after we fully explained the situation, they promised us a full refund and a 20% discount on a future trip. We’ve received the email for the future trip discount and are waiting on the full refund. The house was clean and seemed like it would’ve been wonderful IF basic utilities were taken care of.
