Great Stay at Meyer Mountain Home
We spent a great week-end in Tahoe at the Meyer mountain home. The home is located in the Serene Lakes neighborhood close to Boreal, Royal Gorges, DonnerSki Ranch or Sugar Bowl. The house comfortably host 2 families with kids. The house is really nice with modern kitchen and bathrooms (matching the pictures). The downstair room actually has 2 bunk beds and is a great space for kids to play, but can get fairly cold. We have been renting cabins in Serene Lakes for the last 15 years and this one is one of the nicest one we stayed at. Highly recommend it.

For the same price of a hotel, you have a house in amazing location
I was a solo traveler, but the Meyer Mountain House could have accommodated 10 people rather comfortably. Three levels of bedrooms, three full baths, a large kitchen, two living areas. How was this the same price as a hotel room much further away from where I wanted to be? Ok, some of the decor was from the 90s, but this seems to be the vibe of the neighborhood, full of ski chalets encased in heaps of snow. It was so peaceful there. I'd recommend.

Beautiful cabin in the woods!
We had a great stay here, perfect for our group (3 adults, 2 kids (ages 4 and 5). I wasn’t 100% sure how it would go because of the mixed reviews I read but I wanted to stay in this area and the price was in our budget. The location was perfect for us and the neighborhood is really cute, at least covered in snow. The street to the house was actually snowed in but we easily found a workaround. The house is just like the photos. Plenty of space for us to stay, three levels and overall clean. Even though there is only one actual bedroom, the other sleeping areas are separate and have enough privacy. The fireplace was cozy and heater worked well to heat the house. But we couldn’t figure out how to turn the downstairs fireplace on and when I tried to contact someone I didn’t hear back. The kids loved playing with the board games, puzzles and books. The bathrooms were stocked with clean towels and all the toiletries you need and more, which we appreciated. When we checked out, there weren’t any specific instructions and my call wouldn’t go through and when I sent a message, I didn’t hear back until 2 hours after check out. I’m glad we didn’t have anything major go wrong, since communication was not ideal but we loved the house and area, so we would definitely come back again! Would have given 5 stars if we had direct contact with the owner or manager.

Needs updating and maintenance
Early check in was really helpful on Friday. The location was great and snow removal helpful. We had some disappointments with the house itself. The furniture, beds and bedding were dated and worn (no wash cloths and few towels). The kitchen only had 2 bowls and pans were old and not non-stick. No instructions available regarding heat and fireplaces therfore lower level was cold until we figured out how to turn the pilot light on and lit the stove on the lower level. Lights over sink bulbs were burnt out, The shower on middle level, door did not close and leaked water into the bathroom. The filtered water on the refrigerator turns on but not off which accounted for many messes trying to get it to shut off. Wi fi was inconsistant . We did'nt mind not having a TV on the main level because we were busy skiing but had the weather been bad it would have been a nice option. We were unable to open the bear box to put our garbage in because it appears a vehicle has run into it. The entry room was handy to have but could use more hooks and benches.

Quiet and private
Great place to stay! 2nd floor balcony is secluded because of the trees. I saw local birds, squirrels, and chipmunks on the property. It also had several different wild flowers. Walking distance to the lake.
