Unsatisfactory experienced with this rental property.
I was totally unsatisfied with my stay at this property.
Overcharged: The host charged a $140 fee for additional guests, which we did not have. The maximum amount of guests were 6 and we only had 6 adults and one 11 month old baby. The host was notified prior to booking the rental property that there was an infant and said it was okay. She also agreed that once She received my payment she would immediately refund me the $140.
Unclean + Unprepared: There were 3 couples (6 adults) that stayed at this rental property. One of the couples arrived first and called me immediately with concerns about the condition of the property. When they arrived, the first thing they noticed was that the property didn’t seem to receive a proper cleaning prior to our arrival. There were little red stains every where that looked like blood stains. The linens on beds and the towels were filthy; they looked they were never changed, even after the cleaner came back and cleaned. Both the bed and the side table in the master bedroom were broken. My friend husband almost fell and hurt himself because the legs on the dining room bench was loose. In addition to the lack of bare essential, staple supplies. There were no trash bags aside from the bag already in the trash can, no toilet paper aside from the one open roll, no hand soap to wash your hands, no paper towels or dish washing liquid. I informed the host of these issues and while she later sent someone to clean (who was unable to do much because one of the couples had already arrived and begun to do that themselves) She did not address the issues with providing the essential items listed above that a rental property is supposed to provide. The first couple had to go to the store and purchase those essential items.
A Generally Frustrating Experience:
The worst part of this whole experience is that two of the couples drove down to Atlanta from New Jersey. It was a 16hr drive and we arrived at the property around 4:45AM. We were unable to take a shower or lay down because we had wait for Walmart to open so that we could purchase new towels and linens for this VRBO stay. To top it all off, the WI-FI was not working and it took the host 4 hours to contact AT&T once I informed her that the WI-FI was down. I have been in contact with VRBO and they are not willing to assist with the issues we experienced. The host has also not refunded me the $140 or addressed the above issues as mentioned thus far.
