About this property

The Víkend House is a charming 2BR bungalow in Wilson, Kansas. Recently renovated, it is a welcoming and homey basecamp for all your central Kansas adventures.

We're 5 minutes south of I-70 and only 8 minutes from Lake Wilson including the Switchgrass mountain bike trail, fantastic hiking, and excellent fishing. We're only 20 minutes from Lucas, Kansas, the folk art capital of the Midwest, and Samual Dinsmoor's Garden of Eden.

Wilson is the Czech Capital of Kansas, home of the world's largest Czech egg, and hosts the After Harvest Czech Festival each July. Here you can enjoy an old fashioned soda and pizza at Grandma's Soda Shop and Diner, or a burger and salad at the Midland Hotel Sample Room. If you have a hankering for breakfast or pie (breakfast and pie?) you can find both at the Made From Scratch cafe.

House is amazing, Andy is an amazing host!

My son and I drove out to Wilson to ride our mountain bikes, we stayed at the Vikend House. It was beautiful, clean, well stocked with everything you need for a weekend. Very cozy. Just off the main downtown shops, just a few minutes away from the lake as well. Highly recommended!!

Wilson Lake

We were visiting Wilson Lake and wanted to find a clean place with a kitchen and hot showers. Ended up finding a nice little house that could hold our family. House was clean, check-in was easy, and it worked out perfectly for us.

Andy & Dianne are travelers who have done their best to escape to interesting places while raising a kid. Andy was in the Navy for a while and can fix almost anything. Dianne is a wordsmith for a living and a bookworm whenever she has time.

Why they chose this property

We loved this little house from the first time we saw it. It's a small-ish house with ceilings that aren't super high, just like our grandparents had. In some ways it reminds us of them, so we're slowly bringing it up to modern standards and we hope that others enjoy the house and the surrounding area.

What makes this property unique

The house is within easy walking distance to downtown Wilson whether you're headed to Grandma's Soda Shop or the Midland Hotel. It's tucked into a quiet part of the neighborhood and once you close the front door and sit on the couch, the outside world just kinda drifts away.
