Fantastic Home
The pictures don't really do it justice, this place is great. Big, open concept downstairs that leads out to a large back porch that overlooks the river. Rooms upstairs were comfortable and clean. Marc was very responsive and accommodating. Be aware, there is only one shower (along with a bathtub in another bathroom). But our group of 5 adults and 2 children managed to make it work pretty painlessly. I'd highly recommend this house, and I'd stay here again in a heartbeat.

Beautiful lake home
Beautiful view of the water from this lovely home. There was plenty of rooms and space for a large group. We loved the view from the deck and the hot tub worked great. Marc was an excellent host!

Great Stop for an ND Football Weekend
I brought three of my colleagues to ND for a weekend of football and fun but did not want to stay in a hotel. This was a perfect alternative, only 25 minutes to campus, nestled on Baugo Bay on the St. Joseph River. Very peaceful and bucolic with a hot tub on the large deck overlooking the river. There is a well-appointed kitchen (although there are a couple of things that could be added). We prepared a fairly elaborate meal Saturday post game and had sufficient pots/pans/utensils to satisfy our chefs. Of course, there are trade-offs to be had when renting vs a hotel room. We made do just fine with one shower. Bedding was adequately comfortable. In summary, we were all quite satisfied with the rental and the value for the dollars spent. We would rent again!

About the host

Host profile image
Well, my kids grew up and I didn't like the idea of selling my home. So, instead of selling, I decided to convert the house into a high end, luxury rental. I remodeled, repainted, and refurnished much of the house in 2019. . By late summer 2019, I started renting it out (from Labor Day, the Notre Dame Football season and through Thanksgiving). Then came Covid19. I cancelled all 2020 reservations, and proceeded to replace the roof, the hot water heater, added an outdoor fireplace, a remote for the indoor fireplace, a water purification system mounted on the kitchen counter (esprings) and refurbished the hot tub. I was able to get the Pfizer Vaccine in late December 2020, and then reopened up my home starting March 15, 2021. I live here when there aren't guests enjoying the place.

Why they chose this property

A Craftsman-built home with coffered ceilings, an open floor plan, with ample amenities ON THE WATER is a beautiful thing to experience. It's a lovely environment to make warm, fun memories with family and friends. Or just to retreat from the madness of life for awhile.

What makes this property unique

Sun room, outdoor deck overlooking the water, outdoor hot tub, outdoor fireplace, stainless steel gas grill, Top tier appliances in a spectacular kitchen, water purification system, indoor fireplace, good quality sheets /towels, attached green house, 2 piers for your boats (space for 3 boats... ski / pontoon / jet ski), new beds and bedding for 10 adults and 4 kids, two office areas with desks and chairs.
