Welcome to your home away from home!

Unwind and recharge in our cozy retreat situated on a quiet road just 2.5 miles from Colgate, Seven Oaks Golf Club and the quaint village of Hamilton. You'll love the open kitchen, dining, and living room! The natural light sunroom with floor to ceiling windows is a peaceful place to read, meditate, or do yoga.

Hang out downstairs and watch a movie or Colgate sporting event on a 70" TV or enjoy a game of ping pong.

You have access to the entire house. The main level consists of 3 bedrooms, 2 bathrooms, a writing nook with a wood-burning stove, and an open air living room/dining room/kitchen with an entire wall of windows. The sunroom is a peaceful place to sit and enjoy a cup of coffee and a good book, meditate, or do yoga. Open the sliding glass door in the warmer months to feel the breeze and hear the birds chirping.

The front and back yards give children (and adults) room to run around and play. There’s even a fire pit for roasting marshmallows or just sitting around the fire and chatting.

We’ve made every effort to make you feel at home! You’ll have access to high-speed wifi, puzzles, games and books, a washer and dryer, as well as Smart TVs in the living room, master bedroom, and lower level with Netflix, YouTube TV, and more.‎

The well-equipped kitchen is stocked with spices, cooking oils, ‎coffee and tea (regular and decaf), Tupperware for leftovers, blenders, spiralizer, pots and pans, and plenty of dishes, silverware and glasses, and related supplies ‎for your perusal. You are welcome to any dry goods in the cupboard and condiments in the fridge.

We’re on a well and the water tastes awesome. (No need for bottled water.)

There are plenty of towels in the linen closet as well as extra sheets and pillows and necessities like bandaids and Q-tips. We even provide toothbrushes, toothpaste, and razors in case you forgot yours.

Every bedroom, bathroom, and main area has separate heating controls, a definite plus in the cold winter months. The bedrooms and living room have air conditioning units for relief on hot summer days.

The lower level offers a comfy sofa with queen-sized pull out couch, 70” Smart TV, a ping pong table with ball feeder, and a laundry room with washer and dryer.

Softball Weekend

This is our second day at the Raider Retreat. It is the perfect place to stay! Close to campus and just cozy and comfortable! The owners are fantastic to work with and have thought of everything, so no worries if you forget something! Highly recommend! Go ‘Gate!!

Wonderful stay

This is our second time staying at the Farmhouse, and once again it was the perfect home away from home for a weekend visiting Colgate. Will and Wendy are fabulous hosts. Highly recommend!!!

Football rivalry reunion

Wendy & Will's Raider Retreat is perfectly located for a football / college reunion - friends and foes of Colgate. It's well-appointed, inviting, warm (literally), great snacks and an easy 2.5 walk/jog to the quaint downtown. The downstairs ping-pong table fueled our weekend rival-fun. Highly recommended!

Cozy and Close to Campus

Our family is a big fan of short term rentals, with over 50 stays around the world! We’re also passionate about creating a warm, inviting, and cozy home that we ourselves would love to stay at. We actually do stay at Raider Retreat when the house is not listed, typically once or twice a month.

My husband, Will, and I live in Hunterdon County NJ. We fell in love with Hamilton after visiting frequently to see our son Tucker play basketball for Colgate. Hamilton is a quaint, eclectic town full of life – restaurants, bars, coffee shops, stores, and an amazing farmer's market on Saturday mornings.

I am a graphic designer and small business consultant and my husband is a writer/speaker/consultant working with educational leaders around the world to help transform learning through the use of new technology and curriculum. Our daughter Tess is a biohacking consultant and exercise enthusiast.

Why they chose this property

Raider Retreat is a great place to unwind and get back to nature. It's perfect for families looking to unplug (although we have free wifi and plenty of outlets!), a group planning a peaceful retreat, or friends who need a place to stay during a wedding.

What makes this property unique

The house is close to the quaint town of Hamilton, Colgate University, and Seven Oaks Golf Course but far enough out of town to be secluded and surrounded by cornfields and woods. We love the house and location and hope you will too!
