About this property

Luxury villa with private pool and ocean view near beaches in Martinique

Our beautiful villa lies just a few minutes from the beaches (Cap Chevalier, Cap Macre and Les Salines). It has a private garden, pool, huge terrace and a big living room. It is fully equipped with mostly hardwood furniture and features high speed Internet access (WLAN or via Ethernet), free incoming phones, free local phone calls, satellite TV, a 50" 1080p LCD TV, printer, scanner, Windows 8.1 tablet and an audiophile stereo system. There is plenty opportunity to connect your devices (iPod, iPad, Android, Windows). A tablet is provided for your basic communication needs and even Netflix is up and running.
It is ideal for a couple, a small or larger family or one to four couples.
The lush, big garden is surrounded by trees and bushes. Depending on the season you can pick your own limes, grapefruits, manadrins, bananas, passion fruit, prune de cither, papaya, coco nuts, corossol and others with names you probably have never heard of.
Photovoltaic solar panels with battery backup not only protect against (unfortunately common) power outages, they also provide for an environmentally friendly vacation. The sun also provides for warm water (solar water heating).
A new kitchen with top-of-the-line stainless appliances just has been installed.

Auto: Martinique really requires the use of an automobile; public transportation is bad or non-existent and taxis are expensive. We recommend a rental car. We can arrange for airport transfers and rental cars with a local car rental company.

Getting there: From Europe, there are many daily non-stop flights from Paris Orly and seasonally from Marseilles with Air France, Air Caraibe, or Corseair.
Martinique can be reached from the States via Puerto Rico with American Airlines or via Guadeloupe with Air France.
From South America there are flights via Cayenne, French Guiana on Air Caraibe.
There are some options to fly from Canada non-stop to Guadeloupe and from there with Air France or Air Caraibe to FDF (Martinique). There might be upcoming non-stop flights between Canada (probably Montreal) and FDF.
Other Caribbean islands are also connected with non-stop-flights (St. Lucia, Dominican Republic, Dominica).
Ferry service exists to Dominica, Guadeloupe, and St. Lucia.
Cabin charters on sail-catamarans exist (to St. Lucia, St. Vincent and the Grenadines).

Windsurfing and Kiting: Martinique and especially the beaches around Cap Chevalier (in walking distance from the house) are perfect for kiting and windsurfing. A kite and windsurf school exists. The wind is usually on-shore and particularly consistent from November through May (trade winds).

4 weeks of bliss
We spent 4 weeks in March 2022 at this villa and absolutely loved it. A perfect space for enjoying time off, sit back and relax. A perfect location to drive to Les Salines, the walk to anse Trabault, or drive to anse Meunier (the other listed places have lots of sargasses nowadays). There are 2 local supermarkets in proximity, one of which at walking distance. Le Marin is also just a short drive away. Not all listed items are any longer there or are only partly functional / may need some looking after: PhotoVoltaic + battery backup were turned off (power outages do happen but are generally short), no local telephone which in our case meant we could only reach the caretaker by email (which he always did, rapidly and diligently) maybe it was simply our mobile carriers, yet would be great to be able to reach out via mobile or whatsapp/…); HIFI / receiver was no longer connected, and partially working i.e. TV speakers only, but we managed to reconnect all sources and all we really needed was to be able to play some peaceful music via airplay which we managed (yay! :-); some of the sun loungers need replacement / some looking after; showers/plumbing needs some looking after as well, but surely every single property around here suffers from the climate and elements in the same way so don’t expect anything else elsewhere. Yet, nothing was missing during our stay: the villa is very well thought out and foreseen of lots of luxuries which other villa’s around do not offer (this was not our first visit to St-Anne and we have in fact stayed in another villa a few houses further in this Lot.): an absolutely gorgeous enclosed garden with great pool and tiled pool deck, spacious and tiled outdoor deck under the roof foreseen with outdoor dining table and beautiful hammocks; then there is the house itself, a well equipped kitchen, large fridge-freezer, doors with glass + outer shutter doors keeping the mosquitoes out at night, A/C in every room, ceiling fans, a good washing machine and dishwasher, and good 4G internet… Caretaker Joel is an absolute legend and took great care of us. All in all we could not have have wished for a better place to stay these 4 weeks. We also absolutely loved the fact that we had total peace and tranquility at the villa, without having gardeners/pool caretakers coming to the villa every few days / week (which from experience seems to be a ‘thing’ around here). Absolutely recommended!!!

Toller Urlaub
Denkt an Mückenspray!!!

End of January in Martinique
Me and 4 friends of mine (aged 28-39) have rented Tom’s villa for one week on late January. The villa is beautifully located in a neighborhood on a small hill some 2km from the seaside. The nearest beach, Cap Chevalier, is windy, not the best for bathing but perfect for kitesurfers; there you will also find a couple of nice restaurants good for grilled fish, open at lunchtime. Other beaches –more suitable to bath in- are a bit more distant. Sainte Anne and Le Marin, the nearest small cities, are at 5 and 7km respectively, therefore a car is needed; indeed, rent a car is by all means necessary if you decide to go to Martinique. The house is really nicely furnished, equipped with almost everything you need: tablet pc with wifi connection, a large flat tv (which of course we haven’t turned on being in such a beautiful place), hifi stereo with possibility to connect your music device to external loudspeakers beside the pool.. In the rooms, air conditioning works properly, and we found linens and bedrooms in general very clean and well kept. So were the bathrooms and toilets. The light comes easily in by the French windows that overlook the porch and the swimming pool. The pool is nice, being large, the water clean and devoid of leaves or other undesired stuff. The house, and the needs of the guests, are managed by Joel, which indicated us the directions to the house and welcomed us as soon as we arrived. He has been friendly and helpful: he also managed to find us a car although we forgot to reserve one before leaving. All things considered, Tom’s place is a very nice option for a vacation in beautiful Martinique: I would definitely recommend it.

My wife Lucienne (Brazilian-American) and I (German-American) originally purchased the villa in Martinique in order to live on the island. But we decided later to wait a few more years before doing so. We are now living in Miami, Florida and use our house in Martinique extensively whenever we have time. My wife is a nurse and works as clinic manager for Miami Children's Hospital. I work as SAP FI/CO consultant.
