Short work/visit convenience

The room was spacious and actually felt like a studio because it had a small/good fridge. The home itself was very big but needed some basic sweeping. For the most part it was very comfortable and quiet. You might want to unplug the tv, it turned on a couple of nights randomly. I didn’t feel like dealing with any settings.

The house was not clean but the room was. The bed was very comfortable and nicely made up with clean white linens. The internet only worked in a short spurt every five minutes. I missed an online appointment I’d been waiting many months for because of it. Aleanu tried to say I was mistaken and there wasn’t a problem but later revealed he’d known of the problem and he wasn’t going to do anything more about it. Gaslighting is not ok. The house had a super strong smell of African spices as if food was currently being prepared when it wasn’t but the smell was not anything an open window didn’t help. However, I saw cockroaches while looking for the garbage in the kitchen. Aleanu is responsive and proactive about taking care of any needs but I have rarely been treated with more disdain and disgust. I think that is a function of culture and not necessarily intentional but it is not comfortable. For that reason, I would not recommend this accommodation to solo women, despite it being safe and convenient. The neighborhood is full of families and children and it is quiet at night.

Host was good. I just felt uncomfortable.

I really didn’t know what to expect. However I decided at the last minute I did not feel good about it. So I just left and made sure it was understood he wasn’t really the problem. I just felt uncomfortable staying in a total strangers home.
