Kevin’s place was clean and ready for us. We booked the wrong dates but Kevin was able to accommodate us. We really appreciated that.

Potential safety risk
The property is not luxury, not clean, not secured and host is unresponsive or extremely delayed. During our stay someone entered the property while we were sleeping. I'm assuming maintenance because there was paint spilled all over the entry, and not cleaned up! It's inappropriate for anyone other than renter to enter the property without consent/ notification, especiallywhile renters are sleeping! I advised the host, offered to provide photos with no response from host?? Also, the renter above seemed to have a small child running around all night. This is a historic property, so no sound barrier.
I never write reviews but this host was so bad have to let everyone know of my experience. According to Vrbo the host is supposed to reach out three day prior to your stay to inform you of the check-in procedures. And since the host did not contact me, I reached out two days before my stay and text him directly the day before and he never responded. This made me extremely nervous because I had no clue if I would have a place to stay in NOLA. That night I started looking around to make other arrangements if I could not stay at the rental and luckily I found a hotel nearby that had availability. On the day of the trip while at the airport for my connecting flight to NOLA, I still had not heard from the host so I contacted Vrbo directly. They also tried reaching out to the host but also had no luck. The agent on the phone said that I qualified for a FULL REFUND but he would have to transfer me to another group to get reimbursed. At that time, I booked a room at the nearby hotel and I thought that this whole process was over. When I get to the hotel, the host finally reaches out. However, I have already checked in a hotel and did not need or want to stay at his rental. To make a long story short, Vrbo did not give me a refund and I am disputing the charges on my credit card. PLEASE save yourself the headache and find somewhere else to stay. YOU HAVE BEEN WARNED.
All the door pads have the same code. We accidentally walked in another persons apt only to be greeted by the occupant because the keypad # is the same for all the apt. Because of this my roommates and I did not feel safe knowing any one could walk in to the apartment anytime if they have the code.
Great location in French quarter, host only responded to phone calls, not messages. There was a pane out of the window in main bedroom which wasn’t a problem until the last night when it got real cold. No extra blankets.
If you want to be close to the French Quarter then this is the place for you. The apartment is in a gated code entry compound just steps away from the heart of the FQ. Walk a few blocks and you are right in the thick of live music, food and amazing art shops. Walking distance to the water and Louis Armstrong Park. Exposed brick walls and high ceilings. I loved it!

Overall decent
The host was relatively unresponsive. I had messaged a month out asking if I could mail something and didn’t hear anything. I requested an extra day on the front end of the visit 2 weeks out and didn’t hear anything so we had to get a hotel. The day of we still didn’t hear anything so I called him around 2pm and finally got a hold of him. There were no check out instructions so we did the best we could to leave it in good order. The place was great though. Prime location, easy to get to whatever, slightly off the party streets so we didn’t have too much noise through the night. It had an awesome true New Orleans feel to it. It’s an older property so obviously there are some issues that have been attempted to be repaired. AC worked great but the tub drains slow and the deadbolt is being held together with a thin piece of wood. Overall I would definitely recommend this place. Just know it’s not perfect, but I’d say it’s worth it.
I mouse was running through the property, but otherwise excellent

Great location for price
Good walking distance to all of French Quarter. As with other reviews, very noisy street traffic and people outside. Property definitely old charm but could use some maintenance. Kitchen very basic, No batteries in a remote. And we had to buy our own hand soap. But…we didn’t feel unsafe in neighborhood. We went to party and we were only in the unit for sleeping so it fit the bill perfectly for the price!
Authentic New Orleans location. Perfect location and within walking distance to Bourbon Street, trolley and everything. No no need for transportation. You will enjoy the stay. A bit noisy at night due to proximity to bars, but overall great. The Host communicates well!
We have never been to New Orleans. We were nervous about the safety of our group but the keyless entry made us feel very safe. We were in the heart of the quarter and everything was within walking distance. The kitchen could use a little more items (a toaster, knives etc) however we understand it could be just getting started as a rental. The home has so much old Nola charm. We had a blast and this city did not disappoint. Thanks Kevin!
My boyfriend and I rented Kevin’s place w another couple for my birthday and it was great for us. Great vibes and location. It was definitely noisy in the mornings as people said, one of us brought earplugs and eye mask and slept less interrupted. That’s the price you pay for a short walk from notorious nightlife
Kevin was very responsive and helpful. Property, house and location were as advertised. Loud neighborhood so bring ear plugs. Be careful with the bottom step of the stairs up to the unit.
The location was great, close to everything and all walk able. The place does need a little TLC. Dressers would be great for clothes, more hangers. The place really needs to be better cleaned. The floors were very dirty and the doors all sticky. Having the outside place to sit and enjoy coffee etc was great. The kitchen could use more utensils.
NOTE at night it does get very loud with the street noise. But that did not really bother me. Just bring some earplugs.
Just what we were looking for. Very close to everything.

Birthday Trip
The house was older but nice. Close to Bourbon St. The gated garden was nice. But the neighborhood was just that THE HOOD. Fighting, honking, loud music, and drunks all night and day long. There was a hole in one window so there was no escaping the noise. Coming back from dinner at night was scary to say the least.
Perfect property if you want to see and experience all the day and night action of the French Quarter. It has a basic efficiency kitchen. Fridge was handy, but couldn't really "cook".
Not a real young family place, too much going on 24/7. I found it very hard to sleep. My young adult son, didn't have any problems!! The small pool was SO much fun and a great place to cool down. Kevin was very responsive to our questions.
The place has potential but it’s not quite there yet. Missing window glass in bedroom closet, no remotes for the fans, clogged bathroom sink, dirty floor, no closet rod in second bedroom, etc. On the plus side Kevin is friendly and responded to messages quickly. We did not complete our stay. Found another place for our last few days in NO.
