About this property

Quiet Country Cabin nestled on 100 Acres

Enjoy a quiet getaway at this charming cabin in the woods nestled on 100 acres. The cabin has a warm and inviting atmosphere with a rustic interior pine finish. Large windows invite the natural light and the outdoors in. Enjoy watching the animals in the morning with coffee or take in the gorgeous sunsets sitting on the expansive covered porch. Most often, there is a breeze rolling up from the valley every evening.

The ranch offers nature at its best! Coryell County has a rich Native American history. Explore for arrowheads along the ever changing bank of Cow House Creek. Get your camera ready for abundant photo opportunities! Soaring high above the Cow House is a nesting pair of eagles that have eaglets each year. We also have a handsome group of axis deer, black buck antelope, fallow and scimitar oryx in addition to our large whitetail population. During your visit is is likely that the animals will gather in the field in front of the cabin. Bring your binoculars for detailed viewing.

So, whether you are enjoying roasting hotdogs over a fire in the fire pit, a picnic by the lake while watching the geese or taking a walk, this is a great place to gather with family and friends.

The ranch is the perfect location for Fort Hood visitors. Travel time is about 40 minutes.

A couple of attractions in our area are the Spur Museum in Gatesville!

Magnolia Silos District and Baylor/McLane Stadium. Approximately 1 hour travel time.

HEB Gatesville 10 minutes drive. Walmart Gatesville 12 minute drive.

Our favorite
This was our second time staying at this property. This is an amazing place to stay if you love all things nature. The property is absolutely beautiful. We hiked and hiked and hiked. The kids had so much fun hunting for antlers and fossils, playing in the creek, and trying to sneak up on the deer to get a closer look.

Wonderful property!!
We loved our stay here and can’t wait to get back! It was a beautiful and peaceful place with lots of wildlife to see (deer, eagles, turkeys, birds, etc). The kids loved swimming, kayaking, and jumping in the pond. It was clean and cozy. We enjoyed the fire pit and ate s’mores every night. Walked to cowhouse creek and saw a bald eagle and its nest. The hosts were very friendly and responsive and gave us a great tour of the property.

Great place to chill and watch the animals!
We loved the property, being able to see the wildlife every day was a huge win, and it was very peaceful. The house itself was very cozy, the beds are great and comfortable as well. The heat works amazingly and we were very comfortable. It is a near-perfect oasis away from the city which was just what we were looking for! The only suggestions for the owners would be to update the TV system to have an Apple TV or a Fire or something so we could have logged into Netflix / streaming services. The only thing about the house that we didn't like was the bathroom downstairs when the bedrooms are upstairs. Made going to the bathroom at night for us older folks a pain :). That said, the heater in the bathroom itself was amazing for keeping that room warm during the night! There isn't much around the property close, which is how we like it, but there are plenty of things to do and see around the area within a 30-45 minute drive, we went to Gatesville a few times, two wineries, and Mother Neff State Park! And the property itself is nice to walk and see the animals all over. Didn't have a chance to use the pond as it was cold this past weekend but that looks like a fun time, especially if the grandkids / kids came with us! Highly recommend this property and the owners.

Amazing Vacation
We have stayed here several times and will continue to come back! It’s clean, quiet, and the best part is the wildlife! We stayed warm and cozy during the cold weather but still were able to use the fire pit for s’mores and watch the deer in the yard. Love this place so much!

Hi I'm Corey! I Have lived a well traveled life traveling the world with the USA Olympic Team visiting over 25 countries. Now settled in Texas on my families ranch my husband Mitch and I strive to bring you a unique vacation experience.

Why they chose this property

My Husband Mitch and I relocated from Colorado to Texas to be closer to family and to live out our dream of owning large acreage to live sustainably. That dream brought us to this property in Gatesville, Texas. With its clear flowing waters on Cow House Creek and its aqua blue pond this felt like the perfect place to settle down.
