## Emplacement
Perpignan, the capital of Roussillon and the eastern Pyrenees, is nicknamed «the beautiful Catalan». It takes this nickname from its strong Catalan identity that it shared with Dalí, the master of surrealism, who proclaimed in 1965 the station of Perpignan, center of the world.
Nestled between the Mediterranean Sea and the Pyrenees, the city enjoys an ideal location 10 minutes from the Mediterranean Sea, 30 minutes from the Spanish border and 1 h 30 from the mountains and ski areas. It is also one of the sunniest cities in France that offers rich and diverse panoramas the Pic du Canigou which culminates at 2784 meters, the Albères massif which marks the Spanish border and the kilometers of coastline. Whether you are on holiday in Perpignan or not, with family or friends, you can easily visit the city center of Perpignan on foot. A small tourist train also allows you to discover the highlights of the old town.
