About this property
Close to the Beach & Family Friendly - 3/2
Walk back in time. This well preserved 1930's bungalow has all the comforts of home and a touch of the past. An upgraded kitchen & bathroom, as well as all the modern features you have come to expect in a beach rental.
Relax on the patio or porch with the quiet sounds of nature or the sounds of the beach waves breezing through. This neighborhood is off the main traffic grid and feels like a step out of the busyness of the city.
Located in the historic Denver Court neighborhood of mid-town Galveston. It is just a few blocks away from the Seawall beach front. A short walk to the sand for a day at the beach.
When you are ready to shop the historic Strand District, hop in the car and drive a mere 3 miles.
The Strand District has a variety of restaurants & interesting shops of all types to tempt your palate or pocketbook!
Is it food & drinks you seek elsewhere on the island? Then, we are centrally located, close to all the restaurants & hot spots. Either a short walk to the Seawall for an evening stroll, or a short drive to the flavor you seek.
Staying in for the morning or afternoon instead? Then relax and kick back at the house.
Outside, relax in the fully fenced yard, with an oversized picnic table hand built for families in mind. Grill your favorite flavors on the outdoor propane or charcoal grill. Organize a game of yard activities, such as horseshoe, yard darts or bag toss to mention some of the yard games provided. Enjoy the large fire pit. Or simply sit on the porch with your evening coffee and enjoy the peace.
Inside you’ll find a large seating area with room to enjoy a family movie. The dining table is oversized and able to bring the family together for meals or games. The original hardwood & parquet floors, wood work, windows, & doors all give you a feeling of stepping back in time.
The updated kitchen features granite counter tops and all the supplies you would need for cooking or baking. The main bathroom downstairs is complete with a shower and a separate tub. The dual sink countertop makes getting ready for the beach or for town easy. The newly updated upstairs bath now has a shower.
For your convenience, there is a full-size washer and dryer available off the kitchen. If you need to store anything or keep larger items out of the way, there is a secure utility/mud room off the back door.
There are 2 bedrooms downstairs that each have a queen-sized mattress. The upstairs loft living area which hosts 2 queen-sized futons.
Your island adventure awaits.

About the host
Hosted by Andrea York

My spouse was BOI (Born On The Island) and I grew up in Houston, spending most weekends & all summer in Galveston or Crystal Beach. We both lived on the Island & worked here for years. We still have friends & family members that live here.
Why they chose this property
We love the contrasts of old vs. new throughout Galveston. We found a house that reflects this love of contrasts. It is centrally located to the beach and to town, with the best of both worlds. We wanted to share this love of Galveston with you!
What makes this property unique
The quiet neighborhood. Although the house is located just off a main intersection, the neighborhood is off the main traffic grid. It is like stepping into a different city.
When the wind blows off the Gulf, you can hear the roar of the waves, but not necessarily the traffic.
The front porch is a great place to soak up the sounds of nature. And a fenced yard, completes the feeling of tranquility.
The house is a step back in time with wood floors, vintage doors & knobs, wood accents throughout.
A relaxing family friendly getaway for you, your family and friends to enjoy!
