About this property

Modern Romantic Getaway Cabin - Hocking Hills

Summary:
Experience beauty inside and out at XO Bungalow. This modern cabin is part of Wilder's beautiful 40 acres and situated just 10 minutes from Hocking Hills State park. The property is nestled amongst the trees of our private woods, which is lined with hiking trails. It features a hot tub, king bed, coffee/tea bar, and selection of board games. Come unwind, disconnect from distractions, and reconnect to what matters in the stillness and beauty of the wilderness.

The Space:
This 450 sq ft modern luxury tiny home has a subtle "XO" theme woven into the design and features lots of deep blues, walnut wood tones, and fun touches like a giant tic-tac-toe coffee table game, numerous board games, and a retro fridge.

XO Bungalow has a bedroom with a king bed and room darkening blinds, full bathroom with shower, and an open concept living room, dining room and kitchen space. Large windows in the living room and bedroom look out onto a private deck, hot tub, fire pit, and of course, the tranquil woods of Wilder. A 3 seater sofa pulls out into a queen bed in the living room to accommodate 2 more guests.

XO Bungalow was designed by Interior Architect and graphic designer Kimberly Boyle, from Marietta, GA. She can be found on IG @avalanche_design_co .

Guest Access:
Entire modern cabin, deck, hot tub, private fire pit. 40 acres of woods lined with trail shared with our collection of 10 uniquely designed cabins.

The Neighborhood:
Nestled on 40 acres in the rolling hills of Vinton County, OH, Wilder is close to it all while appearing to be a thousand miles away.

On the property you'll find parking for your car (one per reservation), plenty of space to hike along the property trails, relax on a chaise while roasting s'mores, and forest bath in a hot tub while listening to the sound of nature.

Off the property you'll find that Wilder is perfectly situated only 10-15 minutes from Hocking Hills State Park, Logan, Lake Hope, and Zaleski State Forest. Within these areas you'll find ample opportunity to enjoy the outdoors hiking, fishing, canoeing/kayaking, bird watching, horse back trail riding, ATVing, zip lining, and more! It's a nature-lover's paradise and all located within a short drive of Wilder.

Other Things to Note:
We are in the process of getting Wi-Fi extended to all cabins.
We have limited cell reception. All carriers do receive signal at the ridge along the main path in our property, just steps away from the cabin. You can send and receive texts and calls there.

There is a charcoal grill on the deck, which you will need to bring charcoal for. We have grill tools supplied in the kitchen. We also have a fire pit, and wood on site near parking for $10 a bundle. All proceeds go to the Boy Scouts who supply our wood.

We do allow pets in this cabin for a $25 fee. We ask that they be kept off all furniture including the couch and have their own blanket/bed to sleep on. Dog hair is especially hard to get rid of so if there is excessive hair on the furniture we will charge an additional $25 cleaning fee after the stay.

Interaction with Guests:
Keyless entry with a unique code generated for each guest will be shared via text/email prior to your arrival.

Upon booking and again 3 days prior to your arrival you will receive a link to a digital guidebook with all of the information you'll need to have a great stay! The digital guidebook will include information on the cabin, property, nearby areas of interest, fun activities, and other helpful tips.

If you don't see what you're looking for in the digital guidebook we're available to answer any questions you may have Monday-Sunday 6AM-10PM and expect to answer your question within the hour.

Great stay!
We enjoyed our stay very much. We came with our 11 month old dog who also enjoyed the stay. He like sitting on the deck while we were in the hot tub. There were plenty of places to take him for walks. The cabin is very close to Hocking Hills State Park. We enjoyed doing several hikes there and then coming back to relax in the hot tub.

Not in Kansas anymore
Secluded from the world, fall/winter/early spring you can see some neighbors cabins through the woods. The path is a little rough and steep in parts. The cabins are cozy and nicely decorated. It’s a lovely escape from daily life and a chance to unplug.

Perfect for a quick getaway
The property is just as wonderful as advertised. Just enough room for my wife and myself. The bed was super comfortable, and the hot tub was the perfect size and temperature. The hosts were very prompt and easy to communicate with. We'll definitely stay here again!

Looks just like the picture!
Property was just as listed. It was beautifully decorated, clean, cozy and quiet. They had everything we needed on hand. Only thing missing was the hot tub was unfortunately not working properly and the water was cold. I would definitely stay again despite that one issue.

Wilder is a labor and endeavor out of, and FOR love. Anthony and I don't like to sit still, and we always knew we'd partner to create a business one day. On our 5th wedding anniversary we were out to dinner and Anthony spoke the idea for Wilder into existence. We got a cocktail napkin and did some backend calculations, made some notes, and left the restaurant that night with a plan to start looking for land in Hocking Hills, Ohio.

Two years and one pandemic later, we are finally introducing you to what we consider to be our third baby. (Shhh don't tell our two girls we said that!). Like any child, we've had to be patient, adapt, work hard, struggle, second-guess ourselves, and then marvel at the amount of money this little one was sapping up! In all seriousness, we can't imagine a more appropriate way to bring our talents and passions together. Anthony's love for real estate and project management, married with my love of design and both of our loves of nature has created what we hope will be a sanctuary and restorative escape for many, for years to come.

Why they chose this property

Since having kids, Anthony and I were always looking for short weekend getaways to take by ourselves that wouldn't wear out the grandparents too much at home with our kids! Hocking Hills ended up being our favorite. With some of the most breathtaking hiking we've ever seen, and a calmness and remoteness that truly allows one to disconnect from the world, we kept coming back. Each trip we were able to connect to each other in a way that day-to-day life with little ones didn't allow for, and also connect back to nature and all that comes with that. We experienced individual growth, and growth and breakthroughs in our relationship. We came back rejuvenated and remembering why we loved each other so much, and why we loved the power of nature too!

What makes this property unique

Our main mission with Wilder is to help others have this same experience. We wanted to create a place where guests could experience the beauty and wild of nature while having a beautiful and cozy place to rest their head at the end of an adventurous day. Some of our favorite moments on our Hocking Hills getaways have been spent hiking for hours and hours from Ash Cave to Cedar Falls and back again. But our other favorite moments happen at night, in our accommodations, talking and playing board games with dinner and a glass of wine.

So we hope you'll come experience Wilder. We know you'll find something magical there - with your significant other, your family, or just by yourself.
