About this property

We have a 5 bedroom. 3.5 bathroom home in beautiful Highlands Ranch, CO. The basement bedroom has a full size bed & south facing recessed window. This room has a small private bathroom with a standing shower. The main floor is shared - Kitchen, Dining, Living. We have a fenced backyard. Parking is street. High speed wi-fi. All necessities included. Also available for recreational use: bikes, kayak, paddle board, snow shoes, camping gear.

Neighborhood is quiet. Lots of parks & trails within walking distance as is grocery and restaurants. I work from home primarily and have a dedicated home office.

We have 4 cats and a new Golden Retriever so you must be pet tolerant. If you are travelling with your pet, let's talk! You should have a plan for your pet while you are at work.
Worth noting: only the bedroom/bathroom/utility & laundry area of the basement are fully finished. The rest remains unfinished.

Important: This space would not be suitable for someone working nights or mids who needs to sleep during the day.

Think of us less of a traditional VRBO and more like Forest Gump's mom - like a boarding house! It's a lost art in my opinion and a much cheaper way for people to travel!

Perfect for me

Christine and her son are enjoyable, kind people. If you are on business or on a budget, you get a nice quiet , clean, isolated room. If you want to cook, use the kitchen. You can do your laundry there . I'm going to stay there next time I go to Denver. I'm an animal lover, so the dog and cat were both nice to pet for a few minutes, but they were usually not near.Thank you Christine and Cole.

wonderful temporary home!

I couldn’t have asked for a better experience staying here! The place was wonderful, very accommodating, and Christina provided me (and my cat) with absolutely everything I needed (and more!) for my stay. Could not recommend this place enough!

I am a mid-career professional and a mother to 3 awesome young adults. My two oldest have moved out to college and now it is just me and my son. He and I get along wonderfully and love to travel together! The photo is from Moab this summer. We have a large home and are happy to share our basement space to medical professionals/students coming to the Denver Metro area!

Why they chose this property

We get the awkwardness of renting a room in someone's house. Back on old times boarding houses were common, I'm not sure why we moved away from that - probably safety but I trust travelling nurses, doctors and students and hopefully you will find us trustworthy as well. We do our best to make you feel both welcome but also give you privacy. Think of us more as temporary roommates. We are new to VRBO but have had prior roomies (a nursing student) who would gladly vouch for us!

What makes this property unique

Much cheaper than a hotel or extended stay, no hassle of trying to rent short term in a competitive rental market, easy parking, no utilities to deal with, no deposit to try to get back and cat and puppy snuggles thrown in if desired!

Also, if you are travelling from out of state and are outdoorsy, we have just about everything you might want to borrow to enjoy all that Colorado has to offer: paddleboards, kayaks, mountain bikes (electric/regular), snowboards (size?), camping gear, snowshoes & poles.
