A picturesque artistic cave house, an authentic traditional stay!

A dreamy cavehouse for romantic getaways and family travels. The traditional cave house is located in a traditional village in the heart of the island. It can accommodate up to 4 guests. The house is equiped with a kitchen, one double bedroom, an extra sofa bed in the living room, bathroom and a pretty veranda.

A picturesque location that projects a sense of real life living. A scenic outdoor shared veranda to enjoy the aura of the village while having your breakfast, a cup of coffee or a glass of wine in the evening. Traditional cavehouses maintain a constant temperature throughout the year which minimises the needs for extra heating or cooling devices.

The outside area is shared but at the same time each house has it's own space.

Upon arrival in Vothonas village either me or a friend will be there to welcome you, show you around the house and answer any questions you may have regarding your stay in Santorini.
We'll be available to help out at any point prior to and during your stay.

Vothonas village is famous for its 3 blue domed churches, Sergena cave church, the stone paved paths and architectural elements and structure.

We recommend that specifically for arrival and departure guests book a transfer service or a taxi, please let us know your arrival information and we’ll book it for you.
In general the best way to move around the island is a scooter, atv or a rented car but almost everything is within reach in 5-10 minutes walk. There is a central bus stop intersection in Messaria where you can pick up a bus to any direction on the island.
For those who don’t wish to rent we have our own transfer service available upon a fee to securely drive you around the island.

Cute and convenient

Spacious living space and cute neighborhood with a market, fuel, and restaurants nearby. This was a great location for us to explore all of Santorini, as it is about 30 minutes to either end of the island.

Le Grand and Petit Caves Houses!

Aris was a joy to deal with. He was very helpful and made our stay carefree. We loved the location. It was outside of the major touristy areas, so was quiet (save the dog barking in the evening) but every bit the ambience we were looking for. The rental was spacious and well appointed. Make use of the dehumidifier! It filled the water basin in 2 days. Otherwise, your clothes and bedding will feel damp. We decided to rent a quad for a couple days to get the feel for the island. It was a fantastic decision. Finding our way back to home base wasn’t a challenge as we made sure to drop a pin on Google maps to find out way back. There was a lovely cafe a short walk away which served very good tapas style small plates, all traditional Greek foods! Delicious! Highly recommend Katarina’s place. You will not be disappointed.
