We never received the instructions on how to check in and had to reach out to the owner the day of before arrivingHe immediately forwarded the instructions. The key was not at the location but had to retrieve in a locked box located 10 min walk away. After a 6 hr train ride, that was not very convenient at all and it was past 7 pm when we arrived. We were all tired, hot and hungry. The apartment was located on the 2nd floor and that wasn't mentioned in the listing. I was told afterwards there was an elevator but it wasn't working. We traveled with my parents who were in their mid 70s, my teenage daughter and my sister. We had to manage to lug all our suitcases up the stairs. It was a hot day (late june , early july) and we expected to have AC but it wasn't blowing cold air, more like a fan. There were many fans around the place but they didn't help. My mom couldn't handle the heat and couldn't breathe well, she has COPD. No one was able to sleep that night and I had to look for another hotel with AC the next morning to continue our stay in Montpellier. The apartment was conveniently located near la place de la Comédie and was spacious but not having AC working during a heat wave, made it unbearable, even unsafe. The owner should have fixed or warned us prior to our stay. I had to pay for 2 extra nights at another hotel with AC. I requested to have our night refunded and the owner agreed but I haven't received yet.
