About this property

Napa Valley Vineyard View Estate

A 4,100-square-foot European-inspired estate perched atop Howell Mountain in Angwin, with sweeping views of St. Helena, a detached guest suite, pizza oven, bocce court, putting green, and immediate access to some of Napa Valley's most celebrated mountain appellation wineries.

Howell Mountain occupies a singular position in the Napa Valley wine world — an elevated appellation above the valley fog line, where the soils, the light, and the altitude produce some of the most structured and age-worthy Cabernets in California. It is a destination that serious wine travelers seek out specifically, and one that most valley floor properties cannot deliver from their doorstep. Napa Valley Vineyard View Estate can.

Set at 865 Bell Canyon Road in Angwin, this 4,100-square-foot estate sits atop Howell Mountain with captivating views stretching across the valley toward St. Helena and the hills beyond. The property's European-inspired character is evident throughout — polished hardwood floors, an open floorplan, elegant furnishings, and a two-story great room that anchors the living space with the kind of architectural generosity that makes a home feel immediately, completely inhabitable.

Five bedrooms and six bathrooms accommodate up to twelve guests with a flexibility of configuration that few comparably sized properties match. The master suite sets the standard — a king bed, jetted tub, and private patio access overlooking the grounds. A second ensuite bedroom offers a queen bed and private bath. Two additional bedrooms sharing a bathroom provide comfortable accommodation for the remaining guests. The detached guest suite above the garage — with a queen bed, day bed, and its own ensuite bathroom — delivers a level of independence and privacy that makes it ideal for guests, staff, or a family traveling with older children who want their own space entirely.

Outside, the meticulously landscaped grounds unfold around an outdoor entertaining offering that is genuinely exceptional. A private pool and sun loungers anchor the main terrace. An outdoor kitchen with a wood-burning pizza oven and barbecue sets the scene for long alfresco evenings. A fountain, bocce court, and putting green fill the grounds with recreational options that reward the kind of unhurried, sociable days that Howell Mountain's altitude and quiet naturally inspire. Vineyard and mountain views frame every outdoor space, shifting in color and mood from morning through sunset.

World-renowned Howell Mountain wineries — Lamborn Family Vineyards, Dunn Vineyards, and others — are a five-minute drive from the property. Downtown St. Helena, with its Michelin-starred restaurants and boutique shopping, is a short drive south. Oakville, downtown Napa, and the Sonoma Square are all within easy day-trip reach.

Great place to stay!

It is an amazing property for a group stay! Views are amazing, the home feels like a chateau! The drive up and down is long and windy like all of Napa but very worth it!

Breathtaking Views

The view is breathtaking as you walk through the Arch of this grand immaculate home overlooking the valley. In the mornings, we enjoyed a cool plunge in the long fountain pool and an afternoon refreshing dip in the lower waterfall pool. Also, entertaining games of bocce and relaxing in the lovely patio area overlooking the valley. Upon our arrival, the owner welcomed us with a wonderful wine tasting on the veranda. It completed the magic of the place. Our concierge was amazing and so accommodating with scheduling wine tastings, lunch/dinner reservations and a fantastic chef We will definitely come back!!!

Great property

We had a great time in this spacious house. We loved how secluded it was from anyone else, and the views were great. The two pools were amazing , especially since the top pool was not very deep so it was great for our young kids to swim around in very easily. The house has tons of space, however, one of the bedrooms isn’t technically a bedroom. It was fine for us, since we had our kids right next to us and all woke up early, but it did not have a door, just led up to the interior stairs so you could hear everything. We had great service from the owners on the couple of things that came up. They also helped us schedule a wine tasting and hire a private chef which we throughly enjoyed! If we are up in the area again we would stay here again!

We're Mayastoga Property Group, a boutique luxury vacation rental company based in Napa Valley. We specialize in handpicked private estates across Calistoga, St. Helena, and the surrounding wine country — properties we know intimately and care for personally.

Every home in our collection is selected for its setting, quality, and ability to deliver a genuinely exceptional stay. We're not a large platform or an absentee manager — we're a small, dedicated team that takes pride in every reservation and is reachable before, during, and after your stay.

Our concierge team is available to help arrange private wine tours, restaurant reservations, private chef experiences, hot air balloon rides, and anything else that would make your time in Napa Valley unforgettable. We've spent years building relationships with the valley's best wineries, chefs, and experience providers — and we love putting those connections to work for our guests.

We look forward to welcoming you to wine country.

Why they chose this property

Napa Valley Vineyard View Estate is the only property in the Mayastoga portfolio situated on Howell Mountain — Napa Valley's most prestigious elevated appellation — placing guests five minutes from mountain wineries that valley floor visitors rarely access. Add a detached guest suite with private entrance, a wood-burning pizza oven, bocce court, putting green, and sweeping views of St. Helena from 4,100 square feet of European-inspired living space, and this is a property that rewards wine travelers who want more than the obvious itinerary.

What makes this property unique

- Howell Mountain appellation address — The only Mayastoga property on Napa's most celebrated mountain appellation, placing guests five minutes from Dunn Vineyards, Lamborn Family Vineyards, and other renowned Howell Mountain estates rarely accessible from valley floor properties

- Detached guest suite above garage — A fully independent accommodation with queen bed, day bed, and private ensuite bathroom — ideal for guests, staff, or family members who want complete separation from the main house

- Sweeping Howell Mountain views of St. Helena — The elevated position above the valley fog line delivers a perspective on the valley that no valley-floor property can offer, with views that stretch toward St. Helena and the western hills
- Wood-burning pizza oven and outdoor kitchen — A combination that elevates alfresco dining from convenient to genuinely memorable, and consistently ranks among guests' most-used and most-loved outdoor amenities

- Bocce court and putting green — Two recreational amenities that distinguish this property from the majority of comparable estates in the portfolio and provide hours of sociable outdoor entertainment

- Two-story great room — An architectural centerpiece that gives the interior a sense of volume and light rarely found in properties of this footprint

- Master suite with jetted tub and private patio — A primary bedroom configuration that delivers a genuinely resort-caliber experience within the home

- European-inspired aesthetic — Polished hardwood floors, elegant furnishings, and a design sensibility that coheres around a specific vision rather than generic luxury

Host greets guests personally — A level of personal welcome that sets the tone for a stay defined by genuine hospitality rather than transactional rental
