About this property

Lakefront Secluded Estate Near Ocean, Bar Harbor, Acadia Called Whispering Pines

The secluded waterfront retreat sits just 20 feet from the lake alongside it is a carriage house also built around 1905. The four season (winterized) tranquil home sees its share of wildlife. The well appointed, six bedroom, three bath vacation home is in an ideal location. We call it Whispering Pines.

The wooded 76 acres of tall, old growth pines and broad oaks is laced with hiking trails leading to private vistas. The property has over 3,500' of frontage on Alamoosook Lake and Dead River and abuts 4,500 acres of conservation land. Mooring provided for your own boat. Whispering Pines is located just a few miles from access to the world class sailing waters of Penobscot Bay, historic Bucksport's marina and shopping, less than 30 miles from I-95 and Bangor International Airport. Bar Harbor and Acadia National Park are a scenic drive, only 30 miles away.

The 3500 plus square feet
Cozy stone fireplaces for the cool autumn nights
Fully equipped kitchen: refrigerator, range, dishwasher, and microwave
Washer and dryer
76 acres with a private bridge and long driveway that winds down to the house.
Over 3500’ of lake frontage
Dual pain windows
Spacious living area
Amazing view from every room
Hiking trails
The woods, animals, and lake are the property’s only neighbor.

An ideal lakefront home, perfect for family vacations. Sorry, no pets allowed.

You will love this location and the vintage home.

Hieaway on the water
It was a wonderful place to stay, tucked away in the woods by the water. I love this old house, the character, crank windows and the beauty of the outdoors around it. A wonderful place to stay!

Whispering Pines Aug ‘23
The property had beautiful views. However there was a musty, mildew smell that set off several allergic reactions in our family. We did not sleep well the 1st night and left early the next morning skipping our last two days and getting an hotel room. We alerted Pat to our experience and she offered us a reduced rate on a future stay. We appreciated her offer but will be staying somewhere else.
