Serious mold issues
The property is in a good location and visually looked decent. Unfortunately, there was an overwhelming smell of mold in the apartment. There must have been a serious mold issue for the odor to be that pronounced – it was terrible. We tried opening the windows, but it still smelled, and with the heat and humidity it just wasn’t feasible to keep the windows open for extended periods of time.
Within several hours of checking in, we had to evacuate the apartment and move to a hotel, despite it being late in the evening. We were traveling with a baby and we were concerned about the health hazard of that much mold in the air. We tried to reach out to the owner/manager Chandra immediately, but she ghosted us -- no response, ever. We reached out to VRBO afterwards and they have been telling us that the she isn’t responding to them either, despite multiple attempts to contact her.
We rent a lot of short-term properties regularly and have never had an experience that was even remotely this bad. Overall, I would say that if you are coming to party and are planning on being under the influence of alcohol most of the time, then it may be passable, but if you are traveling with kids, have allergies, or are coming for a romantic vacation: avoid.
