About this property

Steinhatchee is a quiet fishing village, a perfect place for fishing, scalloping, canoeing, kayaking, or just good old fashioned relaxation! The Clove is a quaint and charming 'Cracker Style' Spice Cottage located in Steinhatchee Landing Resort on the Steinhatchee River. The Steinhatchee River offers direct access to the Gulf of Mexico for some of the finest fishing and scalloping available.

Being a true 'Cracker Cottage,' the bedroom is located on the first floor. The bedroom offers a queen size bed with a cozy quilt and the bathroom located off the bedroom, as well as the washer/dryer combination. Next to the washer there is a small chest freezer to keep your 'catch' until you head home.

As you go upstairs you will enter the kitchen and living area. There is a small dining area on the upper level as well as the dining table on the screened porch. The porch overlooks the Chapel where wedding vows are made and renewed. You can sit on the balcony and watch as the wedding party heads to the Chapel.

Want to bring your boat? It is a short walk down to the docks where you may dock your boat, or just watch the fishermen and scallopers come in with their catch. Say hi to the chickens, ducks and goats in the petting zoo along the way. If you want to charter a boat, several marinas are nearby that offer rentals and/or charters.

Quick scalloping weekend

The community is beautiful and convenient to everything in town. The house was clean, well-kept and well-stocked....very comfortable! We were able to store our boat trailer on-site which is always nice and there was ample dock space. The kids enjoyed the petting zoo and pool and the community has more amenities than we were able to use in a weekend (shuffleboard, billiards, hot tub, volleyball, etc). We will definitely be booking another stay soon. There are more local stores in town for incidentals and souvenirs and everyone in town is very welcoming. I can't think of anything I would change!

Good but could be better

Have stayed in the Landings before so was excited to return. Unfortunately upon arrival there was a mini fridge and not a standard fridge and freezer. I contacted the manager and she said it should be fixed the following day. We had brought a lot of stuff in our cooler that needed to go in the fridge and freezer but could not do so. And the fridge was replaced and in good working order the following day. Also the mattress in the pull out sofa is in horrible shape. I slept on it one night I don’t advise anyone to sleep on this mattress. You sleep in an inverted position it is not good for your body. If you stay here I would suggest bringing an air mattress or sleeping on the sofa itself. Also there was no Wi-Fi or if there was we were never given the login credentials to utilize it and did not have Wi-Fi. I asked the manager how to log in and she said she was going to ask the owners but I never heard back from her. It’s a cute cottage and I do recommend it but the communication needs to be better and more active rather than reactive, and they have to replace that mattress.
