About this property

The Guest Cabin - Lakeside cabin with large screened in porch and fireplace

The Guest Cabin is a 2 bedroom 1 bathroom cabin set in the woods overlooking Nichols Lake located 2 miles from Boulder Junction, Wisconsin. The cabin is roomy and comfortably sleeps 4 but we can open up the loft (reachable by ladder) which has 5 additional beds if more than 4 guests are coming. The Guest Cabin also has a fireplace, small porch and a beautiful large porch facing the lake. The Guest Cabin is one of 3 cabins (and one house) situated on 320 acres of family property known as Singwakiki which is just 2 miles from Boulder Junction. The property the cabins sit on has 8 miles of hiking trails and connects to Street Lake as well where guests are welcome to swim or fish if they'd like. Singwakiki is situated within the Northern Highland State Forest. Approximately 1 mile from the cabins is a paved bike trail which connects to a 100 mile network of biking trails. Nichols Lake is a small, no-motor, 40 acre lake that is good for pan fishing, swimming, kayaking, and canoeing around. We have row boats, kayaks, and a canoe on the property for our guests to use. One of the unique things about this property is that we have the only homes or cabins on the lake so unless there is a lot of people at the state beach it is pretty quiet and secluded.

Great Northern Cabin
We had a wonderful time! The cabin was very cozy, up-North atmosphere decorated, and exceptionally clean. The screened in porch was very peaceful to sit in looking at the lake. The hosts were very polite and helpful with any questions we had. We were able to take our 3 yr old granddaughter on the dock and she was able to catch her first fish! It was nice place to relax.

I was so pleased with this warm, cozy and inviting Cabin on the lake. It was everything I hoped it would be for my Fall escape. The hosts were so kind and the cabin was equipped with everything you could possibly need.

North Woods Getaway
We LOVED the cute, cozy and well-kept cabin. The large screened in porch was a good place to eat meals and drink coffee in the morning. The cabin had everything we needed. The lake was quiet and offered a lot of opportunities - kayaking, paddle boating, row boating, fishing, swimming and exploring nature along the shoreline. The stars at night were amazing! We enjoyed walking several miles of the trails on the property. The Vilas County Bike Path was just down the road so we went for a bike ride each day also. Sue, Gary and Tracey were all great and answered any questions we had both before and during our stay. We had a great time!

Quiet gem
We were looking for a quiet place to get away from our busy everyday life. This secluded cabin on basically a private lake was exactly what we were looking for. Communication with the host(s) was excellent and the amenities were as described in the property listing. We took advantage of the supplied rowboat and paddle boat as well as local biking and hiking trails.

Singwakiki is a family owned property including 320 acres which includes land on two lakes. My great-grandfather bought, built, and was a caretaker on the property. His grandchildren inherited the land and enjoy the property when they can. When family is not there we open it up for other people to enjoy.

Why they chose this property

This is a very unique setting. My great-grandfather build three lovely cabins in the woods that overlook Nichols Lake. Nichols Lake is a 40-acre lake that is too small for motors. There are panfish in the lake and the swimming is lovely too! Kayaking around the lake gives allows you to see the character of the lake, many different habitats, and often you can see Loons, a Beaver, Eagles, Ospreys, many times of ducks, amphibians, and even otters sometimes. There are 8 miles of walking trails in the woods and deer, bear, rabbits, coyotes, and even wolves will be seen on the property.
