Dirty, full of hairs
The house is fun and spacious, but since we arrived we notice the floor was dirty. Later that night the beds were also full of hair and dirt. They smell as if they were used, I couldn’t sleep so had to wash them and instantly smell much better. You know when they haven’t been cleaned. Next morning took a shower in the master bedroom and there were long hairs in the corner of the shower. The outdoor balcony also had trash like they didn’t even sweep it.

Chaos and miscommunication
The cabin itself is gorgeous. I have ZERO complaints with the home, in fact I loved it. Unfortunately, this was not the cabin that I originally booked. An hour before arriving, I received an email informing me that the cabin that I was booked for was now unavailable. I was given the option to relocate to this house, or cancel my trip entirely. I chose to relocate. I arrived at the Vacasa office in Big Bear at 8pm. The office hours are listed as being open from 4pm-8pm. Nobody was there, despite the fact that I had text correspondence with an employee at the office touching base on my eta, which I specially told her I would be there at 8pm, as well as having been told on the phone that even if I arrived after 8pm that I could call the number posted on the door, and someone would come to assist me with my in person check in which is required. The number listed on the office door goes straight to a full voicemail box. I called the customer service line and spent 40 minutes in the parking lot as I was repeatedly put on hold as they tried to find the “best solution for the situation”. This solution finally ended up being providing me the code for the front door of the home over the phone. I was informed that it was vital for me to come back to the office the following morning before noon to have my in person check in. The next morning I was back at the office at 11:30am. Not surprisingly the parking lot was once again empty, and the office vacant. I called the customer service line again, sat in the parking lot for 25 minutes only to be told that the manager would not be in the office until Thursday (2 days away), and that I would need to return to the office later in the day during business hours to have my check in. I returned to the office at 6pm and shockingly the lights were on, and people were inside. I filled out my paperwork and gave them my ID, and was done within five minutes. I inquired about possible compensation for the stress, and sheer chaos that Vacasa had made my trip thus far, to which the employees at the office told me that they had no control of that, and that they were essentially a separate company. They informed me that I would need to reach out directly to Vacasa, and provided me with the same customer service number that I had been calling. I would like to say that every representative, and the front desk ladies were very nice, and I believe they assisted me to the best of their abilities. It seemed to me as though the issue was a complete lack of communication within the company. I had a wonderful rest of my stay, and I would absolutely stay in this home again just as long as I can entirely avoid using Vacasa. .
