Friends and I stayed here for a wedding. We loved walking into Castle Rock each day and cute neighborhood. Little outdated but suited for what we needed. Would recommend.
We were there for a short 2 day stay for a wedding in Castle Rock. The location was outstanding, 2 min drive to downtown. We'd never been to Castle Rock, really cool town! If we ever go back to see friends, will 100% look at booking this place again. Host was kind enough to text me before we arrive being I'd never booked a VRBO before and didn't know what to expect. Was everything we needed for 4 couples.
Great place in a great location. Check in was easy and when I had a question, I heard back quickly from the property manager. Close to downtown, walking/biking trails, shopping, restaurants - basically everything was close by. Would definitely stay here again!
Everything was just as expected. Very clean and neat. Perfect for our family of 7. Kitchen could have had an ice tea pitcher, other than that, it was a terrific stay!

Great location, needs upgrades
This home is an amazing size and layout. The location is excellent. The owner has made a lot of renovations to inclide the kitchen and furnishings, which are well done. There still need to be some upgrades for the price one pays for the property alomg with clearing fee to include a master bathroom upgrade (no shower curtains please), remove wallpaper throughout entire home, and update 70s lighting. Bedding was nice, and on the right track, but a bit more needs to be done to finish updates to walls and lighting.
Thanks.
Besides a small cleaning crew scheduling snafu (which the ower rectified quickly), the unit was mostly clean (except for some dog hair on the couch and a small patch of mold on a shower curtain). The beds and kitchen were clean. The size was large enough. Location is a bit far from COS airport and usafa, but Castle Rock is a very quaint town to walk to then around, eat, shop, etc.
Property was great
Only issue was the address given wasn’t quite accurate and the wifi pass wasn’t quite right either. Both were straightened out and all was good
Thanks Caroline!

It Was Okay
I would recommend paying attention to reviews noting that listing accuracy is low. Also, the listing does not show that there is an entrance to the upstairs in the unit that is locked from the opposite side that we did not feel comfortable with this. Many broken window shades at eye level, a hole in the bathroom wall at eye level, broken glass in windows. The back bedroom does not have a door. Location is great for downtown Castle Rock. The house feels like it’s in the middle of a renovation and unfinished.
The house was fine. We had an issue with the person living in apartment. The instructions said we could only park 2 cars on front of house. All others had to park in back of house in garage. Return garage door opener to kitchen. The woman had parked her car in the middle of garage. Someone not on our party parked in front of house. So we parked a car on driveway. She was not happ. Woke us all up early ringing doorbell. Complaining. Tried to explain. She wasn’t having any of it
Not as it appears in photos. Property is not well maintained inside or outside and run down looking on the outside with weeds growing all over the front porch and steps. Random people were walking through the yard of the property and in and out the back gate, throughout our entire stay, which was disturbing. Property manager knocked on the door at 8:30 a.m. the day of our departure to ask what time we would be leaving. We still had people sleeping so we felt this was extremely unprofessional as check-out time is listed as 11:00 a.m. Someone lives in the upstairs portion of this house, which was disclosed but you can hear them up there. There were also a bunch of dead hornets and several that were alive, all over the windows, in the far back bedroom where my son was sleeping. We sent a message to management about that but got no response. There was not enough coffee for our stay and no sweetener of any kind. K-cups in the cabinet but no coffeemaker to go with those. Only a small 4 cup coffee maker was on sight. Housekeeping did a poor job of cleaning prior to our arrival. Would not recommend this property at all.

House wasn’t entirely what we expected.
The house is cute and in good proximity to downtown.
What the pictures didn’t show:
- a lot of basic maintenance hasn’t been done. A loose trim board in one king size bedroom was a strong breeze from falling off. There was a large hole in the dry wall of a bathroom. The light bulbs are a weird mix of super bright white, yellow, dim and so on. The doors to the closet in the bunk bed room didn’t close.
- the layout is weird/challenging. One bedroom has a huge king bed (yay) but it’s very difficult to get around the room. If you are carrying something or have any physical limitations, that room is tough. One bedroom with a super big bed (another yay) has no door and is right near the laundry room. That same room gets blasted with sunlight early and the blinds were not up to the job of allowing any sleeping in. With three teenagers and one little guy who wakes early, it was tough to manage the sleeping situation.
- Getting a dropped earring from slightly under a bedside table included an incredible amount of spider webs. Overall the place was clean in the main areas but where it wasn’t, it was rough. Air vents seemed pretty sketchy and had cobwebs flying in the breeze.
- probably true for most Castle Rock locations near downtown, but surprising to us: there is a loud train that runs multiple times thru the night blasting a safety horn. I don’t recall seeing that in the description.
The location is ideal - very close to the paved walking path that leads right into downtown Castle Rock and all the shops and restaurants. The bathroom situation is not ideal, however. And I was surprised by the separate living quarters upstairs - but absolutely no issues. The kitchen is plenty large enough for multiple cooks and is very well stocked with everything we needed.
