True Farm
We were only there for one night but we loved the place. The "Little House" cabin that we stayed in was very nicely updated inside, with the true log wall exterior. The chickens, turkeys, sheep, and goat were all there. We live in the country too so this made us feel a little piece of home during our travels through the beautiful state of Alaska.

Old cabin
This place should not be renting until ALL items listed are in working order! No window or fan working in upstairs bathroom….grounds not being kept up…. 3-4 foot weeds and grass around cabin causing mosquitoes to be unbearable!! Door handle fell off while using…maybe $150-$175 a night would be more reasonable for the cabin.

Old log cabin
The cabin was pretty good. The driveway to the cabin was really rough. Very remote and quiet. Beds need a mattress pad and pillows need replacing.

My fiancé (Casey) and I are naturally homebodies and we run the Homestead together. The worst thing you'd need to worry about is if our DnD (Dungeons and Dragons) group got too excited at a dice roll, or if our video game is getting intense. We own two dogs, but they are well behaved. The property we run is a 320 acre homestead created in the late 60's early 70's and is the last federally recognized homestead in Alaska, possibly even America.

Why they chose this property

With 320 acres of forest, vast open fields to explore, the Chugach range in broad view, and the Wrangell-St Elias mountain range peaking over our rolling hills. You can't get a better homestead Alaskan experience than here on Wrangell Mountain Homestead! Keep your finger on the pulse of this place, as we are growing and improving there is significant more to come!

What makes this property unique

We are Americans through and through, that means we enjoy our freedom as much as our guests. Drinking and smoking are allowed on the premises, we just ask that you smoke outside of the home and you clean up any drinks you have. We are also cannabis friendly, in Alaska it is legal!

We have a shared fire pit that you can sit at and enjoy a beer with strangers soon to be friends, we have trails to run and walk on, and we encourage exploration!
