The Chessie House is lovely!

A lovely house in a location very convenient to downtown Staunton. Owners made everything smooth and easy for an excellent stay

Staunton home away from home.

The Chessie House was just perfect. It was close to town and coffee shops. It was raining when we came so we didn’t get to take advantage of walking to all these close locations. Our host, Michael, thought of everything. It was the perfect place to stay!

What makes this property unique

While the The Chessie House was built almost 70 years ago, it feels brand new with a complete renovation. The entire renovation was city inspected and approved (2022).

►Kitchen: The kitchen is easy to work in with plenty of space to feed your crew.
You will find most common appliances, pots, pans, dishes, and bake ware. We provide a small sampling of coffee, tea, creamer and sugar, a few rolls of paper towels, spray mop, vacuum, and some common cleaning supplies to for your use during your stay.

►Dining Room: The dining room flows from the kitchen to be the heart of the action. The perfect place for board games, lively discussions, and meals full of memories.
If relaxing in front of the fireplace (electric) or the TV is your thing, the living room will be your place. A super comfy couch and recliner are waiting for you.

►1/2 Bath: Off the foyer you will find the dramatic 1/2 bath.

►Accommodations: Up stairs you will find the three bedrooms, The Chessie, The Peake, and The Kitten’s rooms, a hallway full bath, and the en-suite bathroom in The Chessie Room.

The Chessie and The Peake Room both have new queen beds with new Serta mattresses. A dresser, and two nightstands fill out the room. The Kitten’s Room has a twin day bed with a twin trundle below.

All bedding, pillows and towels are artificial fill, organic cotton or bamboo, and sustainably sourced where possible. All mattresses and pillows are in sanitary encasements to protect all of our guests (please do not remove them). They are washed in fragrance free detergent for sensitive skin.

►Bathrooms: The bathrooms are cozy, but well designed with elegant fixtures. Our towels are the softest! The soaps toiletries provided are either fragrance free, or a very mild natural scent.
