About this property

Elegantly Appointed Barn in the heart of Stowe Village

Located in the heart of Stowe Village, mere steps from Main Street shopping and eating establishments. Meticulously designed and crafted interior provide a modern touch to a vintage barn. (Season Rentals Considered) The apartment spans approximately 1500 sq ft. You will be greeted by a warm Vermont gas stove in the mud room where you can store your ski gear or hiking apparel. When you enter the main living space you will see a mix of vintage and modern with a twist on an equestrian theme. Custom draperies, beautiful vintage corbels, custom lighting. The large chefs kitchen invites you to entertain your guests or cook that favorite family meal. (and there is plenty to take out/deliver if you just want to sit back and relax). Our fully appointed kitchen with the Thermador and SubZero appliances are ready and will not dissapoint.

The main bedroom has a Queen bed and dresser so you can unpack and relax. The windows open to a view of the the Little River and Mt. Mansfield. Additional sleeping is available with a Full size Murphy Bed and a RH Queen sleeper sofa in the living room. All bedding is provided and you can request Flannel sheets in the cooler months for a cozier night of sleep. The bathroom features a 2 function shower.

The private grounds in the rear of the property feature manicured gardens and a fire-pit that looks out towards Mt. Mansfield. You will have plenty of storage throughout the apartment including the mud room. Avoid the mountain road traffic and take a short walk (200yds) to the mountain shuttle. Great shopping and dining all within a short walk from the barn.

Cozy AND spacious
Despite the less than ideal skiing weather we had a wonderful stay in the Barn in Stowe. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen was well-appointed. Even though it's a one bedroom my family of four never felt like we were on top of each other thanks to the open floor plan and clever Murphy bed closet. Plenty of room to stow ski stuff when you get back from the slopes. It was also very easy to walk to the shuttle to Stowe and walk into town after skiing for a drink or to visit the arcade.

Christmas in Stowe
Very comfortable. Cooked in 2 nights and the kitchen had everything we needed, even coffee pods. Beds were comfortable. Location was great. Walked into town for dinner at The Whip and then again for breakfast at Buttlers. The decorated Christmas tree was a very nice touch. Overall 5 stars.

Hiking trip to Vermont - Stowe
We were in Stowe during foliage season for a hiking trip in Vermont. The place was nicely appointed and quaint. Beds were comfortable, great living room and kitchen.. very spacious. Location was perfect in the center of town. We plan to stay here again. This was a perfect find. I honestly didn’t want to leave the place. Thank you for sharing your home.

Erin and John Spranger, we have been renting short term properties since 2007. We love hosting and enjoy sharing our favorite experiences with others.

Why they chose this property

Stowe VT is a wonderful little spot and we are lucky enough to live here. Every season has something to enjoy. In the winter months you can wake up to fresh snow to enjoy on Mt. Mansfield or around town. Walk the rec path with a fresh latte and smile at the gorgeous scenery. During the other months you will wake up to dewey clouds stuck low in the sky keeping all the foliage a beautiful shade of green. As far as what to do for the rest of the day, the opportunities are endless. We are happy to help you with ideas.

What makes this property unique

This home is a uniquely renovated barn built in 1820. The fit and finish mixes the rustic barn with the playful equestrian theme in a cozy and stylish fashion.
