In Vermont, spring means MAPLE! Come visit us in the heart of maple country for one of the 2023 maple open house weekends (3/25-3/26 and 4/1-4/2). Lots of sugarhouses to choose from nearby to our place! Want to catch some spring skiing while in town or do some shopping? We are just 20 mins from Smuggler's Notch skiing and 40 mins to Burlington. Or head around the mountain to Stowe in just 55 mins. Clean, cozy and beautiful - a perfect quiet retreat or a convenient home base for your next adventure!
Underhill is a rural area and the closest restaurants are 15 minutes away (Jeffersonville and Jericho) with a larger selection 25 minutes (Johnson, Richmond and Essex Experience) and the most choices in the Burlington area. There is a full size grocery store in Jericho (10 minutes).
The space: Enter on the ground floor, sit on the handmade mudroom bench to take off your outerwear and shoes with plenty of hooks and room for gear. Walk up a flight of stairs to the apartment which is an open concept living area with fully equipped kitchen and dining area that seats 4. Queen size pullout couch in living area with 43inch TV that gets some local channels or log in to your favorite streaming service. Sliding glass door leads out to the deck. Rest up for your next adventure in the private bedroom, with black out shades and comfortable queen size bed. Brand new bathroom with shower and full size washer/dryer.
Guests have access to the ground floor entryway/mudroom and entire 2nd floor of guesthouse. No access to mechanical room on the ground floor. Access to yard (shared with owners). Please note house rule: this is a quiet family property, no outside guests (outside of those listed on reservation) or parties allowed.
We live on the property and are around and available if needed but also very respectful of guest privacy. We can be easily reached by email, phone, or text.
Located on a steep but well maintained gravel town road. For winter weather AWD/4WD with snow tires is ideal. If that is not possible you can park a little farther away (near the main house) and walk down the steep part of the hill. 2 friendly dogs on the property (but never inside the guesthouse). Owners live on site and may occasionally need to access other side of the ground floor of guesthouse building (mechanical room, storage) which has a separate entrance from the apartment. Our family lives here and you may see us coming and going or outside doing country chores (stacking wood, plowing snow) or enjoying the property which includes forest, gardens, and a small pond.
**Note: Vermont Route 108 through Smuggler's Notch is closed to vehicle traffic during the winter season (roughly November to April). During this time the closed road section of road is great for xc skiing or a snowy hike but this means the drive to Stowe resort is an hour instead of 35 mins**
