That feeling of being scammed
The little house is new and in a great location for exploring Asheville. However, you deserve more than just location to have a good experience. It seems our 35 a day commitment, only got us 1 day of service. On our checkin the house had a for strong odor of cooking / garbage. We found a garbage bag infested with gnats and maggots. I reported to the host (Belle) who said Randy ( manager) would be coming around to help. In the meantime, we went out to acquire paper towels, disinfectant cleaner and windex. Randy showed up on day 2 but as I described what we found, he was incredulous. However, when I offered to show him the garbage bag, his mood changed to indignant as he explained that he himself cleaned the kitchen. Also, during this encounter I expressed concern about the lack of wash cloths and hand towels. We could only find bath towels in the 2 & 1/2 bathrooms. Also, despite a well appointed kitchen, there were no reasonable wine glasses. Randy said he would help with these items. We never saw / heard from Randy again during our 30 day stay. However, the most irritating thing was the 'bait and switch' of the pet policy. We had our 18lb Shih Tzu and confirmed the pet friendly acceptance of the property. However, we were charged a fee of $585.00 for pet fee. When I questioned this charge with Thomas (host) his text attitude seemed to be 'you caught us', let's negotiate. At this point I realized why they always wanted to avoid the VRBO message system.
