About this property

Big Canoe - North Georgia Mountains Amicalola Falls View

This beautifully updated home amongst the treetops of Big Canoe is your perfect getaway! We've poured our hearts in to every detail of this home and know you'll absolutely love what it's transformed into!
From the soaring ceilings in the family room, large picture windows, and expansive rear deck with fire pit and grill, you can see Amicolola Lodge & Falls and take in long range North Georgia Mountain views. There won't be a part of this home that you don't fall in love with.
For the kid in all of us, we've updated the game room to include ping pong, foosball, darts, and several other games. This will absolutely be one of the areas where you'll spend most of your time during your visit, or at the very least, it'll help tire out your kids.
As you can tell, we love and cherish this home, and look forward to sharing its incredible qualities with others.

Just 1 hour north of Atlanta, Big Canoe is Georgia's premier gated mountain community. Within this beautiful resort you will find a 27 hole golf course, eight outdoor tennis courts, two outdoor swimming pools, three lakes for fishing and boating, 20 miles of hiking trails, biking trails, and a beautiful beach at Lake Disharoon. The 16,000 square foot fitness center is open year round and offers indoor tennis, racquetball, top of the line fitness equipment, and personal weight training.

You do not have to leave the gates of Big Canoe to keep yourself busy, but if you are looking for a day out, here are a few suggestions: visiting the several wineries in North Georgia, touring the gold mines in Dahlonega, hiking the falls in Amicalola State Park, finding the perfect pumpkin at Burt's Pumpkin Patch, shopping at the North Georgia Premium Outlets, white water rafting in Helen, or riding the rails of the Blue Ridge Scenic Railway.

Beautiful Mountain Getaway
This house was the perfect space for our multi-generational Thanksgiving. We had three different families (two sets of grandparents, family of five with three teenagers, and adult siblings). There are wonderful communal areas for time together and many bedrooms for privacy as well. The view from the main den is breathtaking and the fireplaces helped keep the house nice and cozy. The double ovens in the modern kitchen were helpful in preparing a delicious Thanksgiving meal. The best part was the game room. Our teenagers actually put their phones down to play darts, ping pong, and foosball. The management company was very responsive! I highly recommend this gem at Big Canoe!

Great house, with a couple of caveats
Let me start off by saying I really wanted to leave a 5 star review. There are lots of great things about the house: - owners and property managers are very helpful and responsive - one of the cleaner rental houses I have stayed in - house is well stocked, with lots of extras that really made a difference in our stay (high chair, pack n play, baby gates, toys/games, etc.) - the converted garage/game room was a great space - propane grill was in great condition The biggest problem with the house is the lack of blinds in the two upstairs bedrooms, both for the windows and sky lights. Sleeping arrangements are a big consideration when we book a house, and it was impossible for any of us to sleep much past 6am with all of the natural light that comes in through the windows. After the first night, I bought a box of black trash bags and covered all of the window openings. This helped tremendously and we slept much better the last 3 nights. Another minor complaint is that the house is older, and although most of it has been renovated/updated, the bathroom upstairs has not. The base of the shower is quite slippery and the water pressure and temperature fluctuate quite a bit. Overall, I would have given 5 stars if window treatments on the upstairs floor were installed. I would probably even stay again if they weren't, knowing I would need to cover the openings myself.

Beautiful Home
The house is comfortably furnished, well equipped with a great layout. The game room is equipped with games/toys for all ages. Having a propane grill and fireplace made cooking and hanging out with family on the deck a breeze.
