About this property

Beautiful historic New England style home in quiet, residential neighborhood

Charming, Cape Cod style home in a beautiful cul-de-sac in Bethesda, Maryland. Five (5) beautifully appointed bedrooms with top-quality mattresses and bedding (4 full and 2 half baths). This house is minutes from shopping, restaurants and metro, in a quiet residential neighborhood surrounded by trees and parks. This lovely home offers over 6000 sq. ft. of space for a family gathering or an off site work retreat. For the more discerning, the private in-home office (600sq/ft) with pool table, 40" TV, computer monitor, printer and high speed wifi works great for executive function, meditation and work groups. Eat in the formal dining room, breakfast room or at the kitchen island. Relax in a large family room with 72" TV, or the lower level recreation room with 65" TV. Located 8 miles from the White House and 5 minutes from the "Beltway" between River and Old Georgetown Roads, all 3 regional airports are within 40 minutes by car. Relax in a fenced sanctuary, or dine al fresco on the 4-tiered flagstone terraces surrounded by trees and gardens in a secluded neighborhood. If you would prefer to dine out, Bethesda is well known for its astounding ratio of restaurants to inhabitants. And, Washington and Virginia, easily reachable by metro or car, also have great hospitality offerings and cultural attractions.

Fun fact --This lovely home, was originally built and lived in by JFK's personal secretary Evelyn Lincoln. In the basement where she ran her offices, you can still see the special wires for the 5 phone dedicated lines directed straight to 1600 Penn. Ave.

Wonderful home
We had a wonderful time in this beautiful property. In DC to celebrate our son’s graduation. The home was beautifully appointed, and perfect for cozy gathering with family, as well as entertaining. Feels intimate, but really, rather huge. Loved the slate large porch and terraced back patio. Huge family room. So many places to gather. Gorgeous yard and neighborhood. Many large windows and views. Main bath is beautiful. Little gems in every room. Everyone loved it. Hope to come back

Spacious, spotless and spectacular!
The pictures do not do this place justice! The house and grounds went beyond our expectations. We were in town for a wedding with family, and the house had plenty of comfortable space for us to all be together, plus plenty of sitting areas, indoors and out, for having some alone time or private conversations. It is located on a cul-de-sac, so the location is quiet and feels very safe. The house was very clean, spotless! Melissa was so generous and accommodating with our special requests and responsive to the few questions we had while there. A great hostess. Look no further! This is truly a 5-star accommodation in every way!

Out of state wedding...
We visited Maryland for our son's wedding and needed a "home" for ourselves and our elderly parents. This home served the purpose and gave us time to settle in and get accustomed to the time change. Our daughter, her husband and young child also accompanied us and the downstairs area was perfect for giving them their space when their daughter needed a melt down. The homeowner was easy to work with and any issues were proactively figured out ahead of time. Our key code didn't work but, in case it wouldn't we were given a 2nd code in advance. Perfect place for a young child to play in the backyard and everyone to have a private space when needed. Our granddaughter loved the "elephant" room. Thank you for a great trip.

Cozy, stylish and comfortable
The house is well equipped, good sheets and pillows, clean, nice views and neiborhood. Everything worked well (hot water and heater..) we had a good family time, nice kitchen to gather together. From the house to Georgetown 25’ to 30’car ride just to have that on mind. Is a very spacious home very stylish! Excellent host! Hope we can get back.

Family gathering
My family met up for the weekend. The house was perfect for three adult couples. There was more than enough room. The property is fantastic, loved it. Would definitely recommend this property, especially for large families. Everything worked out perfect for our gathering.

Our home is the perfect location --both residential and accessible to Bethesda, Wash, DC, shopping, dining and the finest medical facilities including the National Institute of Health (NIH).

Why they chose this property

Beautiful, wooded neighborhood in the Burning Tree district of Bethesda. A short walk to McCrillis Gardens ( a magical, five acre park nestled into this quiet neighborhood) and also a playground and public tennis courts nearby. Grocery store and distinctive shopping at Wildwood Shopping Center less than a 10 min drive.

What makes this property unique

Best of both worlds. Secluded, quiet, tree lined street yet a short commute to Washington, DC and surrounding areas.
