Family friendly budget option

Brought three kids down to visit our oldest at the college of Charleston wanted some space to lounge out other then a hotel but didn’t want to spend our whole budget on lodging! Quick 10 minute drive to downtown. Space Bigger then pictures. Neighborhood looks a little sketch but everyone was nice and we felt safe! Nice to have parking. You can tell they are really working on improving the area. Brewery’s in North Charleston only 5 minutes away! Enjoyed our stay !

Very disappointing

Book with caution. We booked this property because we were in town for a wedding and the property was close to where we needed to be and seemed a good option without completely breaking the bank. Upon arriving at this property the neighborhood was very rundown and our friends were being yelled at by individuals from across the street we did not feel safe getting out of our cars. There was a porta potty directly beside the property which was not in the pictures of the property and the house is split so it is more of a duplex as opposed to a stand alone property as advertised. When I contacted the host to see if we could cancel and possibly get even a partial refund because we would not be staying he said a refund was not possible and later taunted me on my “contribution” because we kept the reservation. The only reason we kept it was because we were told to by a customer service rep we needed to go the next day and “check in” so we could proceed with our complaint. Upon further communication the owner was very condescending. I am shocked that a “premiere host” speaks to people in the manner that he did saying things like if I want to stay at the Ritz Carleton I would have to pay for the Ritz Carleton, ending his email with “oh, by the way there is a porta John next door” (after I sent a picture showing him what we pulled up to) and other passive aggressive comments implying things that were not accurate. I have never had a bad experience through VRBO until I encountered this property and the owner. If I could give this less than 1 I would. This has been messy and beyond upsetting for what was supposed to be a fun weekend away.

Hidden Gem

I initially held reservations about booking the house due to its location. However, I'm glad to say that everything went off without a hitch. Daniel was super communicative and the house was spotless when we arrived. The neighborhood was quiet and fairly close to Downtown Charleston and the airport. My friends and I were really happy with our experience!
