The Adobe House is situated at the headquarters of the Babacomari Ranch, a historic Mexican Land Grant property privately owned by the Brophy family for over 80 years. The onsite ranch managers live close by, providing a secure and welcoming presence to this beautiful working cattle ranch.
The House comfortably sleeps six in the Queen, King, and Twin bedrooms. There are two full bathrooms, and for larger parties a Queen sofa sleeper, and two roll-away beds will increase the accommodations to sleep ten.There is also an attached apartment with a twin bed and a small kitchen. Satellite TV, WiFi, a courtyard patio, lawn and garden, gas grill and portable fire-pit are all provided.
The Babocomari Creek runs through the property with a lush riparian habitat that is home to abundant wildlife and provides excellent bird watching. There is fishing in the pond or Babocomari Creek, and miles of mountain biking, hiking, and horseback riding trails for all outdoor enthusiasts. Stalls and small paddocks are available if you choose to bring your own horses, and we can accommodate 3 comfortably.
Chosen for its landscape beauty, the Babacomari Ranch has been the film-site for several movies such as Tombstone, Oklahoma, and Red River.
The nearby Elgin/Sonoita communities are home to award winning Wineries, shops, and restaurants. A little further down the road Patagonia also offers eclectic art galleries, shops and eateries. Tucson is 60 miles to the North. Nogales, AZ + Sonora, Mexico is 45 miles to the West. Sierra Vista, world renowned Ramsey Canyon (bird watching), and Ft. Huachuca is 35 miles to the East. Beyond you’ll find Bisbee, formerly home of the Copper Queen Mine, now a “bohemian” artists’ colony, and Tombstone, with it's window to the old wild, wild west.
