About this property

Modern Home in a Historic Neighborhood

Philly's original guard commingling with fresh new faces is a recurrent phenomenon in modern Philadelphia, and no neighborhood shows off the fruits of such open-minded growth better than East Passyunk.

For years, insiders have flocked to the South Philadelphia neighborhood for its restaurants, particularly its red-gravy Italian spots. The neighborhood surrounding the avenue—a diagonal interruption to Philadelphia's grid layout—has enjoyed revitalizations in recent years, creating a sort of renaissance for the thoroughfare itself.

Visitors who stroll down Passyunk (pronounced ‘pa-shunk' by those in the know) find eclectic boutiques, coffee shops, vintage clothing stores, gastropubs, excellent Mexican and sushi fare, as well as the amazing Italian eateries that first made this street famous—not to mention the two across-the-street cheesesteak rivals, Pat's King of Steaks and Geno's Steaks.

The neighborhood is now garnering national praise for its fantastic restaurants, with Food & Wine magazine recently naming East Passyunk Avenue one of the 10 Best Foodie Streets In America.
This special spot is in the vibrant East Passyunk Square neighborhood, a block from some of the top restaurants & bars in the city. Located 10 min. from Center & Old Cities, 4 blocks to the subway, & 6 blocks to the Italian Market. A Must Stay.

Perfect Location in South Philly
We loved this place! It had a great set up and a really fun vibe. It is within a couple miles of most of Philadelphia's top attractions, and the Broad Street Metro is close by if you prefer. Leslie is an accommodating and communicative host. I would happily stay here again!

Philly Spring Flower Show Get Away
We had a lovely stay at this conveniently located rental. We found the rental to be just as described in the write up. Very clean and nicely decorated. Beds were comfortable with plenty of pillows and big soft bath towels in the bath! Leslie our host was easy to communicate and readily available to answer any questions. I highly recommend this rental and give it a 5 star rating. Thank you Leslie for sharing your home and for being so accommodating.

Live like a Philadelphian
From my initial email to my final departure the experience with the owners was fantastic - responsive and attentive and very welcoming. The property is well kept and would be perfect for two couple or a group of friends looking to stay away from the tourism and stay in a real Philly neighbourhood. The location and amenities nearby are located perfectly: If you are in town for the food and drink, sports or sites, or everything - you can walk to most places within 30 minutes or jump on the subway located just 5 minutes away. Loved this property, loved the location and the Philly! Go Birds and Thank You Leslie and Lasil!

My name is Leslie and I manage the stays in our home. A Philadelphia transplant, I am always excited to have people come and visit my chosen home town. Philadelphia is really a gem and there is a reason we have been on the NY Times top places to visit (number 3) and recently Huffington Posts "Coolest City in the Country."

I am a long time activist and community organizer. A Colorado mountain girl at heart, I enjoy spending as much time outdoors as I can, whether it be running, hiking, snowboarding, or sitting at one of the many Phila Pop Up Bars in the summer. I love food, arts, culture, adventure, and quiet nights at home. For work and pleasure, I travel frequently and truly believe in finding a home away from home. This is one of the reasons, I have chosen to open my home to others in attempt to provide just that. My life motto: Today is unique, do something wonderful with it, for it will never come again.

Please be sure to read the house rules if you are planning on staying at our home.

We are excited to share our home with people looking to explore the culture and wonders of this amazing city.

Why they chose this property

Our home has history! Recently renovated by a local craftsman and his architect father, the house is filled with local Philadelphia charm. The kitchen floor and upstairs railing are from locally shot blockbuster films and the house itself is rumored to have been the home to some unique South Philly folklore.

What makes this property unique

Our home is centrally located between center city and the stadiums. We are steps away from some of the best dining spots in the city- who have a number of global awards. It is a 30 minute walk to almost every site the city of brotherly love has to offer and we are transit accessible.
