Guest access
You have access to the entire house and 1 acre property and there are no neighbors to the south and west. Feel free to walk the trails and explore the nearby mesa for an expansive view of the valley.

There is a huge parking area in the front and we have a drive-thru driveway for quick and easy loading/unloading right at the door.

STRICT NO PET POLICY - in order to accommodate our guests with allergies to pet hair and dander (ourselves included), we cannot allow any pets at our property including emotional support animals. If we determine that a pet was brought onto the property without our knowledge we will impose a $250 fine.

*Communication*
Feel free to have as little or as much contact as you like, we want you to feel 100% comfortable during your stay. We are local and can answer any questions you may have about the house or the area.

*Cleaning Standards*
We are taking extra steps to keep our guests and cleaners safe, including additional attention to high use surfaces (sinks, showers, toilets, faucets, door knobs/handles, light switches, remotes, etc.) and we are washing all linens, bathmats, towels, and dishes in EXTRA HOT water.

*Wildlife*
We are located in the desert with lots of native wildlife and you might see rabbits, coyotes, mice, beetles, snakes, spiders, etc. Keep in mind that the desert is their home and it's all part of the experience. The backyard is fully fenced for additional protection.

*Security*
For your safety we have a front doorbell camera, front patio camera, and two rooftop cameras pointing away on both sides of the house as well as motion lights on the front porch and sides of the house. These are primarily intended for theft deterrence during vacancy but can also be helpful in letting us know when you have arrived and checked out. We respect your privacy and do not snoop on our guests :)

*Septic*
Like most homes in the desert, we are on a septic system so please do not flush anything down the toilets other than toilet paper.

*WiFi*
There is excellent cell phone signal at the house and we have extremely fast internet (365mbps).

*Morning Light*
We have lots of natural light at La Choza! While we do have roll up shades, on all the windows, they are not blackout. If you're a late sleeper we recommend you bring a sleep mask.

*Neighborhood*
While we do have a couple of neighbors, when you're here (especially in the back) it feels like you're the only one as there's nearly 100 open acres to the south and west.

We are Dave & Tara the founders of CasaDara, a boutique property management company based in the Joshua Tree area. In 2021, we moved to the high desert with our 3 kids to be close to some of the best climbing in the country. We love the outdoors and wanted to raise our family in a more natural environment. We spend most evenings and weekends scrambling up the boulders at Indian Cove or exploring the park, teaching our kids about balance and life.

We love to travel, explore new places, and stay in beautiful homes. We've had many good and many bad experiences that have taught us a lot about hospitality. We sincerely hope that every guest who stays with us will walk away feeling deeply inspired and filled with joy.

As a rule of life, we believe that in every moment it’s possible to make something out of nothing. It doesn’t matter where you are or who you’re with, you can always find a way to create special memories with very simple ingredients.
