The Neighborhood:
Make your way to the corner of Cooper & Young Avenues in Midtown Memphis, just 3 blocks from the house. You’ll have arrived at a place both traditional and trendy, cosmopolitan and casual. You’ll discover boutique shopping and specialized retailers, alongside sophisticated restaurants and happy-hour hangouts. If you’re here on a Saturday, don’t miss the Cooper Young Farmer’s Market happening year round. Cooper Young is where art, culture, cuisine and commerce intersect in a fabric that weaves its way throughout this historical neighborhood, creating a lifestyle district all its own.
You are only 1.5 miles from the Overton Square neighborhood, where you'll find more Midtown restaurants, shops, music venues, Ballet Memphis and Playhouse on the Square.
At Overton Park you will find the Memphis Zoo, the Brooks Museum of Art, Overton Park Shell (famous outdoor music venue), a dog park, a golf course, a patch of woods with walking trails, as well as paved roads, and more.
Enjoy these amazing neighborhoods, as well as all that Memphis has to offer.
Other Things to Note:
This home is 4 blocks from a train track. This is extremely common in Memphis, as we have multiple industrial railroads that run right through town. Luckily, this particular spot is right before an unloading point for the trains so they are always going quite slow. You may hear the horn, but that is literally everywhere in the city limits.
Also, FedEx is headquartered just 5 miles down the road and planes can be heard going over head every few minutes at specific 20-30 minute periods at specific times during the day or night. It is common almost anywhere in Memphis to hear and see the parade of planes coming through. Please try to enjoy the Memphis Charm :)
