The space
THE HOUSE:
Your reservation gives you exclusive access to the MoiraDoon Cabin Home. The Cabin is divided into two levels. The main entry and main level is on the top. On the main level are 2 queen bedrooms, a full bathroom, the living room, dining area and the kitchen. The main level also has a front deck and a back deck. The lower level is full studio apartment suite. It has it's own kitchen, full bathroom and studio living area with a queen bed, a small couch and small dining booth. The studio can be accessed through it's own entrance or from the upper level via an internal stairway. The main level and the studio level are connected via a stairway and room.

SLEEPING:
There are 2 Bedrooms upstairs, each with a queen bed. There is a studio downstairs with a queen bed. There is a queen size futon couch in the living room. If you will be using the living room futon, please note YOU WILL NEED TO OPEN AND CLOSE THE FUTON YOURSELF. The futon is heavy and our cleaner is not able to open or close it on her own.

PARKING:
The cabin has comfortable parking for 3 vehicles.

The cabin includes an infrared sauna on the backyard deck for your enjoyment.

This home is our residence when it is not rented out to you. This means our personal things are in this home. For many of our guests this gives a homey feel. Staying at our house is like staying with friends or family when they are not home. There is food on the shelves and in the refrigerator which we are happy to share with you. There is also space on the shelves and in the refrigerator for your food.
Guest access
Guest have access the entire house except for the two hall closets which are locked and one locked kitchen closet. The guests also have full and exclusive access to the backyard. There is are two barns in the backyard which are locked and which are not for guest use.

WE DO NOT ALLOW DOGS UNDER ANY CIRCUMSTANCES. When it is not rented on we live in this home. We are allergic to dogs. We are so sorry we can't accommodate you.

A CAT has lived in the home. You've probably read about her in the reviews. Chili is no longer at the house. She has been adopted by one of our daughters. I know she will be missed by repeat guests. Even though Chili is gone, I don't recommend the cabin for anyone allergic to cats since she did live in the house for 6 years.

IN THE WINTER IF THERE IS SNOW YOU WILL NEED CHAINS! unless you have snow tires AND 4wd. It's possible there won't be snow on the road during your winter stay - but don't plan on that. Please plan for snow/ice. We live on a steep street which gets icy and even cars with 4wd but no snow tires struggle to make it up (if they make it at all). Snow tires OR chains are the key!

WE HAVE STAIRS. Our home is not wheel chair accessible and is not suitable for someone who is unstable, struggles with walking or who is at risk of falling. Getting up to the front door requires walking up some stairs and walking up a pathway which, during the winter can get icy. Falling is a risk and we do not accept any responsibility.

LIVING ROOM FUTON: If you use the living room futon you will need to open it into the bed and fold it back into a couch yourself. Our cleaner is not able to do this on your own. If you leave the house with the futon unfolded I will charge an extra $75 in order to cover having someone come over to refold it.

THIS IS NOT THE RITZ. When you are not staying in our home we are living in it. Staying in our home is like staying in our friends home. The plusses are it's cozy, comfortable & welcoming (in our opinion) and fully stocked. If you like to cook, this is the place to stay! It also is lived in. It's not sterile (it's clean). Everything is a little worn and a lot loved. You'll definitely see and have access to our favorite books. Our pots are used (and either stainless steel or cast iron).
