Awesome place
Place was awesome. Check in process was easy and special treats awaited us. Place is bigger than pictures make it seem. Very spacious. Beds were very comfortable and bathrooms were clean and well stocked. Location is perfect for the University of Iowa. Everything is close by and actually within walking distance. Chandler was great at answering questions and being available. Couldn’t ask for a better experience. Wish we found it sooner.

Elegant
The unit is beautiful, spacious, immaculately clean, and conveniently close to campus. River views are amazing. Beds are comfortable and the little extras left by owners are a nice touch making it feel more like home. Thank you, we will definitely be back.

My husband is a writer and former hospitality executive. I am a product designer and an avid cook. We live in Florida but have a University of Iowa Ph.D. student assisting us with the condo, who is friendly and helpful if needed. We previously owned and ran a luxury property overseas, so we have built in some of the features our guests have loved.

Why they chose this property

Home away from home: ours and yours
My husband is an Iowa Writer's Workshop graduate with close ties to the University. He bought this condo in 2007 when it was renovated from a fraternity house into three condos. We own the lower floor where the common areas were, so it offers several oversized rooms to enjoy. We recently renovated and furnished it so we can share the beauty of this location with others and enjoy it ourselves a few times a year. It is nestled at the edge of Fraternity row, so there is daytime foot traffic and activity, but it enjoys mostly peace and quiet due to its layout. My husband is an avid reader, so the condo is stocked with a wide variety of books to enjoy while you stay.

The furniture is clean, modern, and comfortable. There is more than enough seating for four to spread out in the condo. The beds are comfortable with new bed linens. The bathrooms are stocked with high-quality towels, toiletries (Aromatherapy), facial tissues, and soft toilet paper.

There are some amazing restaurants nearby, but if you get the itch...I am an avid cook, so the kitchen is fully stocked with all the pots/pans/dishes/glassware/utensils needed to make a meal if you desire. We stock the fridge with a few items to get your stay off to the right start: Local dairy, a cheese platter, and local bread to name a few items. The Nespresso machine is easy to use and makes a far superior "cuppa joe" than any Keurig, yet there is really good coffee in IC too. There are cleaning supplies, including paper and microfiber towels.

We can give you many ideas for places to go in the surrounding area. We explore more and more every time we go and love sharing our favorites.

What makes this property unique

The condo has beautiful views of the Iowa River, Hancher Auditorium, and City Park. It features two dedicated off-street parking spaces with an easy, private entry into the condo. The world-renowned University of Iowa Writer's Workshop is just two blocks from the property. Leave your cars and walk six blocks to some of the city's best restaurants for drinks and dinner. A three-minute drive north takes you to the I-80, one exit away from the Xtream Arena and Iowa River Landing for more restaurants and shopping. We have a competition-sized Brunswick pool table in the Library/Game room with brand-new accessories for a friendly game and a desk with a printer, in case you need to get some work accomplished too.

The main grocery store, Hyvee, is just over a mile away by car. New Pioneer Co-op is less than a mile away with organic produce and specialty items.
