Perfect little getaway!
We had a wonderful time at Peace of Pine! It was the perfect getaway for some peace and quiet. The cabin was very clean and just as described. The pontoon was great for several strolls around the lake. We caught a lot fish right off the dock, many 9-10” blue gills, as well as several other species. It was quiet, neighbors were nice. We lucked out with the weather but the cabin had an assortment of games and movies available if it was rainy. The owners were wonderful to work with and incredibly nice. All in all, it was just the little vacation we needed. Thank you!!
You won't be disappointed with your stay here, Lisa is a great host, and the property was more than expected. Even if you forget things? chances are Lisa has already thought ahead, and the place will have it. She goes above and beyond to assure you have a enjoyable, and relaxing stay here. Can't wait to go back !
Not minority friendly people!!!
We actually had an amazing time, once we were let in as we were given the wrong door code and had to wait for someone to come let us in, at which point she seen and met all 4 of us that were to stay there. The property and cabin are beautiful, well kept, and very accomodating. My husband is a youth mentor and invited some of the 18-20 year olds (4 of them) to fish with him as the drive was not far for them, no where in the contract does it say you cannot have visitors to the property, it does say no extra guests, but does not mention visitors. Our "visitors " did not stay the night they were just there for the afternoon and evening and left after we bbq'd. The next morning upon check out, after acknowledging that everything looked great and nothing was damaged, we were accused of having a party, and told she was keeping my entire deposit, and given a lecture about how much it costs them to maintain the property?!? We feel as though we were treated this way because we are not white, nor were the visitors that spent the day with us!!
I agreed to pay for additional guest as she claimed we only paid for 3, upon looking at my receipt, we had not only paid the rate for 4 guests, but had already been charged an additional fee for an extra guest, so actually we had paid for 3-5 guests. When I pointed this out to the owner, her response was that she was still deciding wether a refund was "deemed appropriate"? There was no damage to her property or cabin, no complaints from neighbors about a wild party, no noise or disruption concerns, and yet she still thinks she is entitled to keep our deposit. I am very sad about the whole situation as we really enjoyed our stay here. I cannot help but think that had we been white and it had been Aunt Karen and Uncle Bill that came to visit us, there would have been no issues! Thankfully my father is an attorney and we will be handling this through Home Away LLC directly.
It is unfortunate. This could have all been avoided if you had followed the rules and/or I had turned you away upon arrival as you had more guests then the reservation was for. I was kind and allowed you to stay without a word. Is this not minority friendly? I’ve served 100’s of travelers (including numerous minority) statewide, nationally and internationally through Vrbo for several years. All are welcome here who respect the rules. All travelers view the same thing you did on the vrbo site to make a reservation.
I received a notice reporting that you were entertaining a group of about 10 people and a dog with multiple cars in the driveway. Granted you were not loud but It states No parties/events, no children, no pets. This cabin has a maximum of 4 people unless discussed with me first. There was no “lecture” on this, only clarification and there was never any mention of keeping all your deposit.
I also sent you a friendly reminder on the day of departure that check out time was at 11:00 am.
I arrived at 11:15 only to find you packing, 2 others sitting and relaxing and others still out on the boat fishing. Belongings and debris still scattered about the yard. This showed me that clearly there was no intention of being out by the 11:00 check out time. I continued to show you kindness and called you back after you left as you had forgotten all your fish, net, fishing pole, and tools.
I encourage the reader to go back and read my 100 plus, 5 star reviews to get a better understanding of how I run my business. Honesty is still the best policy.
We Loved It!
We loved this cabin. We loved our hosts. We loved the lake. We loved Mora, MN- this as exactly what a cabin on the lake experience should be. Very Clean and welcoming-we hated leaving
Thank you so much and we absolutely loved having you as guests. Hope to have you back again soon.
Perfect and cozy!
Lisa makes sure we were well supplied and cared for during our stay. Should you need something that is not there (which I highly doubt will happen) she will make sure to get it to you. She is a gracious hostess that you will never see and while you are in the kitchen, watch out for the little baskets of goodies strategically placed to satisfy your sweet tooth. This is our favorite go to place!! We love it!!
We had a fun night at this cozy cabin. Everything is so comfortable. Lisa even went out of her way to buy an auger so that we could try ice fishing. We enjoyed shopping at the stores in downtown Mora. It was a wonderful escape from city life!
