About this property

The Coalmont: Waterfront Tiny-Home Cabin Retreat

The Coalmont is a 3.5 acre private waterfront retreat on top of the South Cumberland Mountains of Tennessee, between Nashville and Chattanooga. The 460 sq ft "tiny" cabin sleeps up to 4. Amenities abound with boats, hot tub, fishing, lawn games, large decks for gathering, fire pit, zip line, and beautiful scenery. Perfect retreat for couples looking for a romantic getaway, families wanting to unplug and reconnect with quality time, or anyone looking for a quiet place to work remotely.

The space:
Welcome to The Coalmont! Our family spent 2 years transforming an old fishing cabin that sat on a beautiful wooded, waterfront piece of land between Nashville and Chattanooga. It is our family's getaway retreat, and we love sharing it with others as well! We thoughtfully laid out every square inch of space, indoors and out, and spared no expense to make it a luxury stay for anyone who wants to disconnect from day-to-day life and reconnect with loved ones, OR spend quiet time alone.

This 460 sq ft space was intentionally designed for our family of 4, including the loft space for our two sons. It is the perfect size for 2-4 people, with the queen bed in the bedroom and 2 twin floor mattresses in the loft (loft was designed for kids but can work for adults if you are flexible!).

From the expansive deck area (with dining table, sofa, and fire pit) you enter through the large glass doors into the main living space. You will find bar seating for 4, a fully stocked kitchen with tons of counter space, and living room with sofa and swivel chairs to enjoy the wood stove or game night around the coffee table. The hallway takes you to the full bathroom with walk-in shower and rain shower head, as well as the bedroom with queen bed and Tuft and Needle mattress. From the bedroom, you walk out onto the hot tub deck with our private, deluxe, 7-person, self-sanitizing, salt water, hydrotherapy spa. Wow, that's a mouthful! Enjoy dimmable lighting throughout the cabin, a coffee lover's dream setup in the kitchen (4 ways to brew your coffee!), high-speed (1 gig) internet for a "workcation" or laptop movie night, ample outdoor parking, extra toiletries in case you forgot anything, and spa-quality robes in the bedroom closet.

Outdoor amenities include large deck space for gathering, eating, or sitting around the quick-start pellet- burning fire pit; fully stocked lake for fishing, kayaks and pedal boat for exploring the private lake; outdoor fireplace near dock for grilling; corn hole; horseshoes; playset and zip line for kids; and 3.5 acres to roam and play.

Perfect weekend getaway from Nashville
Perfect place to get away from all the noise and busyness of life. Owners are responsive and pleasant to deal with. Lots of hiking nearby. Would come back.

We are a family of 4 living in the great city of Chattanooga, TN, where we own and operate our photo/video business, Creative Revolver. We love to spend time with our 2 boys, Max and Leon. We like to travel, cook, and play music together. We designed The Coalmont to be the perfect retreat to get away and find rest and relaxation. We love spending weekends there and hope you enjoy it too!

Why they chose this property

The Coalmont is our favorite place on earth! You can get away from the hustle and bustle of life to relax and reconnect. You can stay on the property and enjoy all the amenities or explore the area and visit all the great hiking spots, waterfalls, and quaint little towns.

What makes this property unique

What makes The Coalmont unique is you get the best of both worlds! Water and woods. It's quiet, yet you get to enjoy the sounds of nature and all the animals you encounter (families of geese sleep on our shore at night!). There are also many amenities that are available to our guests (boats, fishing, hot tub, 3 fire experiences, zipline and playlet for kids, lawn games, and more!).
