Very clean but poor communication

Unit was very clean. Communication left much to be desired. It was not disclosed until hours before check-in that there were monitoring devices in the unit and that if more than two towels were needed, we had to bring our own. We found this out after we had been on the road for 3 hours. Feels less than transparent to disclose the monitoring devices after the deadline to cancel, let alone hours before check-in. Additionally, check out instructions were sent a couple hours before check out but 2 hours after we had already left. Which they could see via the cameras. Not a bad place, but these communication tactics left a poor taste in our mouths.
