About this property

1735 Stone Farmhouse in NY's Hudson Valley

Step back in time to this 1735 Stone Farmhouse surrounded by 108 acres of rolling hills, vast wildflower fields, forests, tree-lined walking and hiking paths, gazebo and wood-burning fire pit. Shaded by verdant flora and teeming with local fauna, you will see deer, wild turkey, rabbits and many species of birds and butterflies. This farmhouse is the perfect Private Bed & Breakfast getaway for those who want to get up close with nature while also unwinding in a beautifully restored historic home.

Built in 1735 by Frans Daniel Winne, a wealthy Dutch squire, farmer and landowner, this home once slept two U.S. Presidents: General George Washington (summer 1783) and Martin Van Buren (winter 1802). Now you too can enjoy the property through our Private Bed & Breakfast experience - only 1 guest's group at a time (1-4 people). The home is a beautiful example of early Dutch architecture in New York. It still has many of the original details including wide plank floors, exposed hand hewn beams, Dutch doors and deep bay windows. It has two wood-burning fireplaces in the living & dining rooms. One of the original four Winne homes is on display at The Met in NYC (look up New York Dutch Room The Met). The home is picturesquely situated, past its very own private bridge, in the middle of 108 gorgeous acres bisected by a meandering creek, offering total privacy and yet only 2 hours from NYC and Boston, 15 minutes to Albany, and 35 minutes to Hudson. Please ask about our Wedding and Event Venue availability, Wine Tastings, and private Fitness Classes, including Yoga, Animal Flow and 1-on-1 Personal Training.

A Private Bed & Breakfast escape for you and your closest friends. Only one guest's group (1-4 people) is on the property at any given time, so your group has privacy inside the entire original stone farmhouse and all outdoor areas. The property manager is located in the attached addition and manages serving breakfast, and lighting/maintaining the wood-burning fireplaces (seasonal) and outdoor fire pit. Please note, the kitchen is located in the addition and may not be used by guests, however, there are many food options nearby and Albany is only 15 minutes away with its many dining options.

Complimentary Full Hot Breakfast served daily at 8am in the dining room. Please see our menu in the photo section.

As a Private Bed & Breakfast, the historic nature of the home, and the large property size, the property manager is located in the attached addition and is available should a need arise.
