-- ABOUT THE HOME --
This freestanding house is on a quiet street in one of Portland's hottest, most walkable neighborhoods. It is a two-story new build, with kitchen, living room, and a half bathroom on the first floor, and a bedroom, full bathroom, dedicated work space, and laundry on the second floor. You also have your own private patio adjoining the living room.
The space is equipped with high-speed internet and a super-efficient heat pump/AC system to keep the home at the perfect temperature. The kitchen is fully equipped and includes Bosch appliances.
-- ABOUT THE ALBERTA ARTS DISTRICT --
As Travel Portland puts it, "Independent and diverse, this Northeast Portland neighborhood teems with art, shopping and dining options."
In keeping with the neighborhood’s diversity, the dining options offer food for every taste (vegan to carnivore), craving (foie gras to fried chicken) and budget (PBR to Dom Pérignon).
Peppered with locally owned shops, cafés, bars and galleries, Alberta Street (just steps away from the home) is famed for its monthly Last Thursday street fair, but offers entertaining options any day of the month.
When you check in I'll send you a link to a map I created with my favorite haunts in the neighborhood and beyond.
-- CHECK-IN --
Check-in is flexible anytime after 3 pm, and we're sometimes able to accommodate earlier check-ins if there's no one staying the night before, so feel free to ask if you're getting to Portland early! Checkout is at 11 am.
Parking on the street is free, unrestricted, and usually plentiful.
-- GETTING AROUND --
This is a safe, and as mentioned above, very walkable neighborhood.
If you don't have a car, there are Biketown racks nearby at 18th and Alberta (these are bikes you can rent by the day, or pay per trip and park them at various racks throughout the city). There are also a number of e-scooter rental companies that operate in the city (Bird, Spin, Lime).
The No. 8 bus, just blocks from the home, will take you downtown in 25 minutes.
By car, we're 15 minutes from the airport and 15 minutes from downtown, so an Uber or Lyft ride is reasonable. If you like the sharing economy, look into an app called Free2Move for your day trips out of the city.
