About this property
Centrally located DC Apt, near Shaw metro, Bloomingdale
Spacious and recently renovated junior one bed/1 bath apartment in the heart of the Bloomingdale neighborhood. The unit is in the basement of a historic 1910-row home near several restaurants and bars. The apartment is a 10-minute walk to Shaw Metro station and close to downtown, the U.S. Capitol, National Mall, and museums. It is perfect for couples for a vacation or a business trip to D.C.
The space
- Walk Score 95 (daily errands can be accomplished on foot)
- 10-minute walk to the nearest METRO Subway station at Shaw station on the Green/Yellow Lines or a 15-minute walk to NoMa-Gallaudet station on the Red Line
- Approximately 1 mile to Walter E. Washington Convention Center
- 8 minutes by car to downtown Washington DC
- Conveniently close to Smithsonian Museums, U.S. Capitol, and other D.C. sites.
The apartment was recently renovated and has all the amenities to make you feel at home, including fast internet, washer/dryer, air conditioning, etc. The kitchen has everything you'll need during your stay (full-sized refrigerator, toaster, Keurig, pour-over coffee maker, filters, microwave, oven, and range.
The bedroom includes a queen bed with a tuft and needle mattress, a full-length mirror, and a closet. Note: it is a junior one-bedroom, so no door separates the bedroom from the living room.
There is a table that seats two in the kitchen that can also be used to work remotely. The apartment also features a small nook with a desk and monitor for you to work remotely.
Parking
Most street parking in my neighborhood is free but limited to 2-hours during the day (7 am to 8:30 pm or 7 am to midnight, depending on the block) unless you have a residential parking permit. D.C.'s new short-term rental rules prohibit hosts from providing visitor parking passes for guests. Many hosts continue to violate these rules, but I do not. There is one parking space in the back of the property, but it is where I park my car. If you need parking during your stay, I am often willing to rent my spot for $10 a night, but you must get my permission and pay in advance.
