THE NEIGHBORHOOD
The Casas Adobes neighborhood was founded in the 1920s, and is older than nearby Marana and Oro Valley. One of Tucson's most popular public spaces Reid Park is named after Maurice L. Reid who moved to Tucson in 1923 and started the Casas Adobes neighborhood. Reid planted more than 200 acres of citrus trees and date palms, that would become the heart of Tucson's citrus industry. Hence the house's name Casa Palmera or "Palm Tree House."

About Tucson
----------------------
Guest ranches, horseback rides, and cattle drives recall Old West roots, but you’ll also find yourself smack-dab in a hub of spas, resort hotels, and championship golf courses...not to mention amazing, trend-setting restaurants. Tucson was the first city to earn the designation of a World City of Gastronomy by the United Nations Educational, Scientific, and Cultural Organization (UNESCO). Plus, with a thriving visual and performing arts scene and respected galleries and museums, Tucson’s vibrant multicultural heritage shines.
Famous for its dramatic beauty, the Sonoran Desert covers this region with spectacular cacti – including the giant saguaro, a symbol of the American Southwest. But don’t be fooled by the term “desert” because mountain ranges in all directions offer scenic drives and even snow skiing. In the winter you can go for a hike in the valley, then drive up to Mt. Lemmon and enjoy the slopes. Tucson’s legendary year-round sunshine and saguaro-and-sunset landscape have romanced visitors for decades. Tucson's coldest month is January when the average temperature overnight is 38.9°F. In June, the warmest month, the average day time temperature rises to 100.2°F.
If you are visiting Tucson, it's a great time to consider a jaunt across the Arizona border into Nogales, Sonora, Mexico and get a taste of the charm and traditions of Old Mexico. Nogales is only about 60 miles south of Tucson on Interstate 19.
Once you immerse yourself in the laid-back atmosphere of Tucson, you may never want to leave.

Why they chose this property
When searching for the perfect spot, this neighborhood instantly captured my heart. It offers a beautiful blend of tranquility and community vibes. The peaceful surroundings, complemented by the proximity to Meadowbrook Park, mean that while you're in a serene enclave, recreational activities are just a stroll away. What stands out most to me, though, is the community spirit. The park, pool, and spa, all within walking distance, provide wonderful opportunities to mingle, relax, and immerse oneself in the local scene.
The backdrop of Casa Palmera itself, set on a spacious corner lot, enhances the feeling of space and relaxation. And nothing beats the mornings where I look out from the bay window in the primary suite, taking in the neighborhood's gentle rhythms. Add in the bonus of modern amenities like our new appliances, and it's clear why this neighborhood felt like the ideal choice.
